Yep, the gap between our midfield and back four is atrocious, loads of space for Sheff Utd to run into.

That first goal is almost entirely on the midfield.

Onana's lax closing down and the other two, especially Gueye, just ball watching and not plugging the gaps.

They're just so, so, so, so stupid.

The major problem I see is our midfield do not protect the defence. It ends up with the opposition midfield and attackers taking on our defence with not an Everton midfielder attempting to track the Sheff Utd midfielders.
Now we are down I expect us to have more possession because Sheff Utd will be springing counters at will because our midfield is awol defensively.

The first goal was down to Onana allowing the cross to come in and Doucoure standing on the edge of the box watching, instead of getting back and helping his centre backs out.

With such a flakey defence, we need a sitting DM that supports them, otherwise we’re cut open every time they put that ball in to Archer. Maybe we can stick a defender in midfield, it would be better than the Gana / Onana pairing so far.

Sorry mate, disagree, tarks was at fault for been to far off his guy and not on his back, which causes Patterson to go inside. And then he show the other lad, who his right footed back inside onto his stronger foot

Talks should have been on his back for the first ball, but he then shows him where the support should be and Patterson turns to tel he outside. Support should be from the inside-out, so that if Tarkowski is beat to the inside he has support. And if he’s beat outside he’s further from goal.
