2023/24 James Garner

He needs to be in the center of the park full time. That said I don’t have the feeling he’s going to ever do all that much at this level. He’s fine at best.

James Garner is average he’s consistent but he isn’t the answer, we need a midfielder before the window shuts
I think if Dyche is going to build a good midfield unit, it needs to be around Onana. Personally I think Onana would operate best in a midfield 4.
Onana. Playmaker. Box-Box
Defensive Mid
I think a midfield along those lines is how you’d get the best from Onana.

We haven't been left with much choice due to injuries and our full backs being shockingly bad, but playing wide will harm his development long-term imo. Same thing that happened to Godfrey, Davies and Holgate being shifted around constantly in their early years.

He looks decent out wide due to him being technically miles ahead of our other players, but he is not a winger or full back.

Just bad coaching and recruitment threatening to ruin the few bright spots in the team yet again.

Way to slow given his slight stature to play in middle. Considering he was a key component in getting Forest up couple seasons ago that performance was nowhere good enough. And another who likes to gob off about their favoured position only to fail to impress when given the opportunity. Should have run midfield last night...

I've been told he;s the answer in MF for weeks. I cant see it.

He's a better right back than Patterson. So put him there.

….certainly worth a go but I have my doubts it’d be a long-term solution.

If anything, I see him as a useful utility player rather than holding down a specific position.

Until Coleman gets back I'd say it's a necessity.

People who believe we should carry on with Patterson at RB I can only assume want Everton to be weakened from the start of every game.

I worry about our centre midfield being weakened by moving him also. Patterson's cooked at this stage, so something needs to happen there, but I don't trust Gana and Doucoure in midfield and Oanana hasn't put his foot down either. Has Garner got a twin brother? Be handy.
