Sir Landon Of Donovan

Great article chriswho. The logical 'odd-man out' would be Landon. Keane signed only 6 months ago, Landon has already said he'd love to come to the Premiership (ie: EVERTON!) when his contract ends after next season, but what is the perfect scenario? Him asking to stay at Goodison right now!

Tim Leiweki calls the shots at the Galaxy. When he says he's interested in Lampard, that is code for them flat-out wanting them. Lampard has already spoken about looking to come to the MLS, it's the perfect scenario. If Landon approves of it, Everton should approach the MLS. I don't think it would take all that much money to buy out his rights, perhaps something around $4-mill I would guess, that's just my guess.

Maybe Moyes is enticing Landon to stay by bringing in close buddy Buddle? b)

you never know what they are up to... :)

this is the start of the process i hoped might happen. If LA wants Lampard (or any other DP) they will need to get rid of one of their current 3 (Beckham, Keane, and LD). If LD wants to come LA is starting to float that they had other plans for that spot as well so he could "go gracefully" without either side looking like they are hurting each other...

It is all early, but this is exactly how LD's exit from LA had to start...

Fantasy: LA has to get rid of a DP to accomodate Lampard. Donovan gets sold to Everton.

Reality: LA just makes room for another DP slot, MLS accomodates them. Lampard to LA, Donovan back to LA.

There is no way IMO that lampard would want to go mls anytime soon. If he left Chelsea now or at the end of season he could easily get 2 more seasons in the prem or Spain.

He'd effectively ending his career once he signs for them. Chelsea still in CL this year and euro's this summer, no chance he's going America.

Moyes LOVES him:

“I think he’s done well. His first couple of games we didn’t play well against Bolton or Tamworth really but he kept his head above water.

"After those two games he must have wondered what he’d come to.

"But after Villa he’d have said ‘this is more like it,’ and more what he remembered.

“I thought he played well last week, and he’ll take confidence from it. He made a couple of really big moments for us in the game. What he does that might not be appreciated is his levels of running and effort - they’re up there with the best we’ve got at the club.

“He’s a great athlete for us. Because of that he might not always be creating but I know I’ll get a right good shift from him if nothing else.

“I see a little more maturity but also someone who’s still finding his feet.â€

There in lies our prob mate, that type of conclusion and mentality. Its prob why we#'re looking at 6'4 four lumps of strikers, a centre half and why Drenthe, Apocalypse, Barkley and Baxter cant get a game.

Game today summed up his loan so far. Plenty of hard work, one or two nice touches but not quite what we remember from last time.

Bit worrying that he vanished from the game when put on the left although it was a clever ball in for the goal. Hope he's rested against Fullham because we'll need him at his best against city

We've worked him like a dog since he's come back, so I suppose one off day is all right.

Agreed. First touch escaped him. Easy to forget how bad the weather was watching on tv. First touch in bad weather can be tough. he'll bounce back.

Yeah, not his best game but once Moyes shifted him to the left he was lost from then forward. Controlled first touch eluded him several times today but he did make a number of good crosses.

I'm so sick of seeing Saha out there. Send him off for a bag of nuts, that's all he's worth right now.

He had a bad game today - mainly due to his touch. His cross in the first two minutes was great, as was his ball in for the goal. His speed on counters was great (Tim Howard LOVES throwing out to LD doesn't he? Ever since Algeria. :) ).

However, his first touch and finishing was awful, as was his trying to dribble around the defense today.

That does not "sum up his loan so far". Today was not a good game, but the last 4 he was our best attacking player on the pitch.

Not trying to sugar coat it though - today was a bad day. Worst of his set.
