Well one has played in the PL and for the Italian national side whereas the other lad has barely done anything. Why would we have the same expectations placed on them?

Though Gnonto was playing for Zurich and Chermiti Sporting...

...not saying the same expectations. Just that they may both make an impact.

Bobby Collins?

….reading @alan ball brilliant compilations, so many of his teammates said his presence transformed the club. I saw him but wasn’t old enough to judge. He must be in the top category of great Everton players.

Not sure if it’s on YouTube but there’s a tackle he made in the first minute of the 1965 FA Cup Final (I think on Gerry Byrne) that borders on GBH.

But we aren't signing Gnonto from Zurich (even though he'd played for Italy too then) so not sure on your point?

We compare two players as we know them.

If you go back and read what i wrote, i made the point about 12months ago.

Gnonto joined Leeds from Zurich, made an impact.

Chermiti could also join from Sporting and make an impact...alot are assuming he wont.

Exactly. There's no point kidding ourselves that a kid who is an Italy regular at 19 would intend to spend the next 5+ years at Everton. Quite frankly he shouldn't. Just like Onana he'll want, and should want, to go to the very top.

Agreed.

If the club are signing young, up and coming players and selling them on for a profit a few years later thats a much better model than whatever they’ve been at recently.

Bring him in and 2 more like him and we wont be far off having a sizeable chunk of young players.

With quality and experience coming in (12months time?) we may find we actually have a good 11.
