I’m leaning towards giving him one last chance to resurrect his career.

If he’s available and plays half a season and contribute 5 to 10 goals/assist along the way, I think 10m is very much worth it.

I know he's a hard negotiator and if we had to pay money regardless then of course he wouldnt be interested. But this is in Spurs' interest for him to do well at us, as its the only way he gets any money.

He has 6 games to prove himself, easily achievable with good contribution if his rehab is indeed successful.

This seems like the way to go. The club would be doing the right thing by continuing to support him and give him a proper, honest chance to continue his career. He says he feels better and has his passion back, I’d love that to be true for several reasons. We should know within 6 games if the further financial investment would be worth it or not.

I was wanting us to unload him anywhere to get his wages off the book, but hearing about his struggles has obviously changed my tune. I hope that if we do decide to loan him out that it’s fully transparent and to a place where he’d continue to receive mental health support.

I have a hard time seeing him making a smart move like that, given the corner he's painted himself into with Harry Kane. If he thought that way, he wouldn't be having a staring contest with Bayern and Kane's agent. He either would have put the winning contract on the table, or concluded a deal with Bayern, before it got ugly.

He's had a lot of other moments like that one, over the years. It's as though his ELO in chess is 600, and he's never heard of backward induction.

Agreed. He wants to come out of every deal as teh winner. It is short sighted as the best business is when all sides coming out of a deal thinking they have won. It's why Tottenham have been unsuccessful IMO. When all you are ever thinking of is "me, me,me" then you lose opportunity.

I’m not disagreeing in all honesty. A lot will depend on Spurs and I do not think they will re-structure the deal.

Quite. What is the incentive to do so at the moment? Time and circumstance change everything.

If Dele gets back at it and proves he's worth his place, then paying the extra money is a win for both clubs.
If Dele doesn't, then it's a lose for both clubs.

It's just that simple.
