I know he's a hard negotiator and if we had to pay money regardless then of course he wouldnt be interested. But this is in Spurs' interest for him to do well at us, as its the only way he gets any money.
I have a hard time seeing him making a smart move like that, given the corner he's painted himself into with Harry Kane. If he thought that way, he wouldn't be having a staring contest with Bayern and Kane's agent. He either would have put the winning contract on the table, or concluded a deal with Bayern, before it got ugly.
