Seems that people are cutting Victor Anichebe some slack the past two weeks which is refreshing to see.

His attitude's much improved and if he increases his work rate feel he's "like a new signing"... which given his injury record is much needed.

What's people's thoughts?

Can Vic do a job for Everton FC?

I've only ever had a problem with his attitude. And ability. However next to Saha he has the work ethic of a sweatshop orphan.

He's the best option with the resources we have available.

I'm pleased that he's not been spotted beating the floor in frustration having taken an easy tumble.

All the attributes to be a great player. None of the mental prerequisites demonstrated so far.

However, that's two impressive sub appearances I've seen in the last couple of weeks. Maybe he's worked it out. I hope so.

I'm still a bit concerned that he goes down like he's got a bad injury and then gets up and carries on. Thankfully it seems that he'd now rather try and score and risk missing rather than going down and hoping for a decision.

Well he is doing a job for us. Off the bench to score the winner v wba, and off the bench to equalise today. His fitness has always been an issue for me, so continue to use him as an impact from the bench for now.

He went and injured himself straight after his goal ffs

Doesn't have a footballers/strikers brain for me.

So no

That's a bit harsh. He was busting a gut to keep the ball in play as there was a chance of a fast break. He didn't deliberately injure himself or put himself in a stupid situation.

I'd have been fuming had he just let the ball roll out of play without trying to get there.
