The £500k upfront fee blows out of the water the argument used earlier in the thread that we are using up most of our transfer budget on this. At that price we've nothing to lose.

Striker next please.

i think he might add something to our midfield i think i rather have him there than a midfield of Neville,Johnny H, ossie, Bily
maybe getting away from united could be the best for him.

Initial fee is £500k accordin to Oliver Kay

I think his contract is up at the end of the season, hence why he's going for much less than the £5m Sunderland were prepared to pay last year. Could we have held out until the summer and picked him up for nothing?

No. Not really. Kentight would have used the excuse that there was less than no money then. We'd of had to get him in to sell him in order to have no money.

Pretty sure Newcastle have signed more Utd players than us in recent years and all theirs have been ****.

4 - Just four of Darron Gibson's last 28 shots in the Premier League have been on target, with none of them resulting in goals. Blast.

No. He would have moved in the summer to whoever offered him the highest wages, which undoubtedly wouldn't have been us.

If that fee is agreed it is a great deal. Half a million for an international midfielder with premiership experience. An untried second division player would cost as much. A centre Half even on joan, a striker and sign up drenthe would be great news. Sell billy to cover some of it

She's a sl*g her.

If there was that much interest in him then it's surprising that no one else has come in with a £500k bid. Personally, I don't think he's that much of an urgent acquisition and I would have taken my chances in the summer, I think.
