Summer transfer window 2023

The window opens again in June, it would be beneficial to get any deals done early if there is a chance a transfer ban is realistically coming... Our board will probably leave it till the last minute only to be slapped with a transfer ban before we signed anyone.

Bit difficult to do that if you don’t know what league you are playing in….a lot of the deals agree in principal in advance of the window opening have been negotiated over a period of time. Id expect us to see what happens first and then the old strategy of leaving it late will resume….we never learn and I think that is definitely in BK (the same happened pre Moshiri)

Agreed. What's worse, relegation may bring about a situation where we will be required to sell to balance the books, so what we require may vary.

The same with what finances we've got available because even if we do sell (e.g. Pickford, Onana etc.) the money from this may be required to cover the deficit.

We'd all much rather the club were able to do the deals sooner rather than later and in an organised fashion, but sadly we've got ourselves into a tricky situation.

Yep we have too many uncertainties hanging over us….PL safety and P&S potential punishment to name but two

We will know what league we will be on May 28th, Transfer window opens mid June. In my mind we have June and most of July to get deals done knowing what league we are in instead of leaving it till end of August and throwing games away yet again.

If we go down I don`t think the P&S charge is applicable... we won`t be one of their members to be able to be charged, I think this is the reason it will take so long. The PL affectively don`t have to make a decision because we won`t be their problem.

Bring him home.

Johnson + Danilo + Gibbs-White would be interesting.

Lodi on loan from Atletico as well.

Southamton, Lavia.
Gnoto from leeds
Walker-Peters from S’ton

But really we need to get away from buying from former/current EPL teams… unless they have relegation release clauses.

Even then, the wages take their toll

Walker-Peters is one I think we’ll try for from Southampton, quality full back who can play either side is exactly what we need.

While I don't think he's a bad player at all, I don't think he's what we need

We have Patterson who is maturing and, I would expect, we'll give Coleman another year - they sort out the right back areas

It's a specialist left back we need - Mykolenko just about does a job there, but he makes my eyes bleed with the ball at his feet.

Walker-Peters is a decent player, but he's right-footed and he wouldn't be enough of an upgrade at left back.

I don't have a name for you, but I'm hoping the club has a specialist left back in mind if we manage to stay up and are allowed to spend some money - that's quite apart from needing another striker, another wide player, a centre back (given Mina and Coady are off and Holgate needs punting) and ideally someone with a little bit of quality on the ball in centre mid.

Can see it just being a January window ban after we appeal an original 2 window ban.

Bit pie in the sky tbh. If we miraculously stay up and aren’t slapped with a transfer ban it’s still going to be difficult to recruit any quality.
Brennan Johnson will go to somewhere like Brighton (unfortunately a better option)
Newcastle should of kept there powder dry and waited for this summer to go get Johnson instead of Claire Balding head!
