Phillip Neville. You had a great run son, but you aren't fast enough to deal with this game anymore, and I'm pretty tired of watching you pass sideways. I'm sure you can do even more pointing from the sideline. I'm making you part of the coaching set up mate, so get those pointers warmed up.

Louis Saha. Hey Louie, you have been a terrific servant to whatever shirt you've pulled on, and for us no exception. You've got to admit we've always been patient with you, and you've not always done the job. But the time has come where we need someone to score some goals, seeing as you aren't doing it anymore. I'm calling time on you for the sake of the kids who need someone to idolise. Bums on seats and all that. Your headed back to France, champ. Clairfontane is where it started for you, and thats who I've sold you to.

Tony Hibbert. Did you cross for the winner today? Execututioners Bong is giving you the credit, but for mine it was another weak cross that Scharner gave straight back to us for the Cheeb to slot. Your a good defender, part of a great defensive unit. But your holding someone better back, and it's time for you to move on. We'll only find out who that is when you've gone. The game has evolved to a degree that we need more attacking output from you. We need whipped in crosses from the byline, not powderpuff chips into the box. I want someone better looking who wears white boots occasionally, mixes it up. Your left foot is could well be back at your house watching T.V than you use it. You've been a solid if unspectacular performer, but the worst thing is, no-ones going to miss you when your gone. I'm not being ungrateful, you understand, you have absorbed yourself into that position and become part of it. We need someone who will equal Bainsey on the left, not be the invisible man. You'd be good in the Championship from now on.

Tim Cahill. You were the greatest. Now there's something not right with you. It was your mates leaving wasn't it. You saw them come and go, leave a big hole in the team and your heart, and now it's not the same. That's okay mate, we all go through that uncertain time. At the moment your trying your socks off, and its not getting you anywhere. Your stuck in a rip and no matter how hard you swim you keep getting further out. It's killing me, it's killing you and it's killing the club. Back to Australia for you mate, go play for Sydney and send that Terry Antonis this way when you get back.

Agreed. They don't have to go though, just accept being squad players and not guaranteed starters. Or if we receive a big enough bid then they'll be sold. They've all played their part though so no bad words for them.

I just thought of a possible spanner in the works though. We don't have money to buy replacements. FFS.

Night of the long knives here.

Get em while their sleeping.

Think Cahill and Hibbert are still worthy servants to the cause. Saha can be if he finds his confidence. Neville? I can't see anything he offers but I do know he has one of the best pointing fingers in the business.

We have to take the chance I reckon. Sell to buy, make a stand, we've got good youngsters who aren't getting any game time. I applauded Moyes subs, but it was a bad decision to start so many defensive midfielders. We got lucky.

Hard to disagree with any of that, well said. I'd keep Tim and Hibbo as squad players though, but honestly Neville should follow the family trend and call it a day, the same with Le Roi.

You've not thought this through Macca. What about when Hibbo scores (and he will one day), will we still riot if it's for a different team? I'd feel obliged to and yet the memory would be forever tainted with sadness.

I just can't believe Hibbo's still in the side to be honest. I'd pay him out of my own pocket if I had the money, but, after all these years, why the consistently weakest point of our team hasn't been strengthened is beyond me.

neville an saha are spent tbh cut them out of the squad nev maybe a good coach hibbert should have a leccy shock thing fitted to his legs whenever he attempts to pass the halfway line give him a blast as for t cahill no longer a1st choice for me probably his last season here me thinks

I think the problem with Nev is the deal he's on.

Its not his fault would you retire from one of the best jobs in the world when you're also getting paid shiote loads for it as well?

I'm sure Cahill's not right. I seem to recall he got injured while playing for Australia last year, and missed a large chunk. He's not really been the same since, and I'm actually really worried there's something wrong with his body. I remember a time when he used to win everything in the air. Now, he's become pretty average. When was the last time he managed to bullet a header on target, like he used to all the time?

Also, I like Hibbert. He's not Baines, but he's not bad.

Saha and Neville, agreed, they are useless.

That deep free kick Baines took and Cahill sort of won it with three around him...back in the day he would have gotten up and buried that. I think it was last week, he managed to get a free headed from a corner and put it 6 feet wide... Arteta's gone, and Timmy needs a new challenge. I was his most vicious defender, but I'd rather see Vellios, Strac or even Macaleny given a crack. Not McFadden though.

Haha, lunch time here and maybe a trip down the beach to contemplate these shaftings.

Is this what you meant?
