Personally I don't blame Parish for this decision. Their form has been apocalyptic, and they were rightly worried about the direction of travel. I understand the argument that he should have been given a couple of games against the bottom teams, but what happens if they lose them? Surely you then look back and think that the decision not to sack him was beyond stupid.

Let's flip that around - how many people don't believe that our failure to sack Lampard after the Bournemouth games was a mistake? We allowed him a few more games against the dross and we lost them, which (along with not signing a striker over the two transfer windows) may end up costing us our place in the division.

Selfishly, I'd rather they had kept Vieira as they looked like they were sleepwalking towards a massive scrap and that would have made our job a little easier
Getting their U21 as caretaker till the end of the season suggests to me maybe they're preparing the ground for Bielsa.

Yeah, I agree with this on balance. If you're nice and safe from relegation but on a bad run you can give a manager an opportunity against the lesser lights to turn the ship around, but like you say giving a manager who is struggling to turn the team around a few more games where losses could be disastrous, that's a bigger risk than changing. As we found out.

I'm just surprised the news agencies haven't pinpointed the downfall of Viera started at Goodison where he was viciously attacked when a supporters' leg smashed into his foot.

"Sure they did well in the first part of the next season but then the PTSD hit and survivors guilt made it impossible for him to do his job. We believe Everton should be fined £100 million and have a 20 point deduction."

That's not true. If I were to say to you it'd take as low as 32 points or as high as 42 points to survive neither would be probable.

34 or 35 points is in the realm of possible outcomes though.

But for me 36 points is in probable territory.

None of the bottom 9 can achieve a point per game all season. It's very likely that at least 3 cant achieve anywhere near one ppg based on what they've managed all season - or in the last block of 10 games. That would mean that 34/35/36 point totals to get safe become very feasible.

wel see
