Paddy out, Paddy in on Paddy's day.
Not watch a lot of footy outside L4, Carlo?Lampard or Rafael i reckon
They’ll look at us and think, “What would Everton do?” and then they’ll appoint Marcus Bent on a 10 year contract before getting relegated.Feel a little sorry for Viera, but clearly parish has blinked and is very worried about relegation.
Not sure who they will get in now though?
It's a ridiculous decision. 12th in the table and with a lot of bottom half teams to play.I’m not saying Palace will go down, but I don’t think Vieira would’ve took them down.
Indeed, you have to give him a couple of games against the duffers at least, and you have to have someone lined up surely! Unless he had lost dressing room big Time etc which is poss i guessIt's a ridiculous decision. 12th in the table and with a lot of bottom half teams to play.
They had time to hand him the next two games after the international break - which are at home and winnable - and then make a decision.
Any new manager will go into that job with Palace probably in 13th and with easier on paper games. The pressure to get the wins will be enormous. Imagine they dont get them - they'll implode with no fix available.
IMO no club at this stage should change manager unless they are looking doomed. Palace weren't ever in that category. I reckon they might be punished for it.
You tend to hear that when a manager is sacked. It's mostly bollocks though.Indeed, you have to give him a couple of games against the duffers at least, and you have to have someone lined up surely! Unless he had lost dressing room big Time etc which is poss i guess

But I guess the argument would be this international break is the last opportunity for a new manager to really have time to put their ideas forward. Even so you need to have someone lined up to come in. If they've just panicked and are going to go with the U21 coach I don't see the point, that's an enormous step up and a big gamble. It's a ridiculous decision. 12th in the table and with a lot of bottom half teams to play.

Honestly I would be amazed if he gets another top level job without going down a level and proving himself first. I really wanted him to succeed here but he was absolutely awful. If he takes over at Palace they could be in big trouble.I think Lampard will deffo be in the running.
He kept us up last year and Palace are in a much healthy situation than we were in at the time.
I dont think the final 11 games is time enough, tbh.But I guess the argument would be this international break is the last opportunity for a new manager to really have time to put their ideas forward. Hard to see how it could be enough, think Palace have sleptwalked into being crap at the wrong timeI dont think the final 11 games is time enough, tbh.
It's the sort of stunt a club makes in utter desperation, like Burnley did last season sacking Dyche.
I guess Burnley did get a bounce when Jackson came in, but it wore off because he simply wasn't as good a manager. The difference here is that Palace are in less trouble and even a 3 or 4 game bounce could get them to safety even if it's unsustainable, so maybe that's the logic. I'm not sure I agree with their decision but if they've decided Vieira isn't their guy for next season I guess it makes sense to do it now and hope some sort of bounce helps them see out the season relatively comfortably.I dont think the final 11 games is time enough, tbh.
