From this on Twitter it looks like some West Ham fans are as worried as we are. Seems like each teams think that others will stay up at their expense. Hardly anyone seems confident of avoiding the drop.

I tell you what, I'm most surprised that Leicester are down there and still convinced they'll get out of it, but West Ham is also unexpected for me.

They've got some quality players in Rice, Soucek, Bowen, Paqueta, even Antonio. They spent big on Scamacca, bought a proven scorer in Ings. Benrahma is a handy player, as are Lanzini, Coufal and Cresswell and Zouma.

WHU next 4:
Southampton h, Newcastle a, Fulham a, Arsenal h

Leicester next 4:
Brentford a, Palace a, Villa h, City a

What with our next three fixtures (knowing we've played a game extra), I am hopeful that we'll be ahead of at least one of these after those games.

After our next three games and other teams games in hand, anyone behind us after that will be in big trouble!

I think we’ll be in a worse position than we’re in now after that stretch of fixtures so other clubs will be targeting making up ground.

I think the way the league is panning out plus the fixtures we've got left the best we can hope for is to be going into the final day not in the bottom 3 and in control of our own destiny.

We also need to hope that the footballing gods are kind to us when the teams below us play their game in hand.

Yes fully expecting to be in a worse position, but that is almost a given I think. If we can nick 1-2 points it would be huge. Even if we enter the last 8 games in the bottom three, as long as we're within a game of getting out of it, I think the other teams are that bad that there's still a fighting chance even after these fixtures.

Agree. IF we stay up this year, I see us starting to be stable mid table then new stadium offers hope.

if we go down, I have concerns of league 1….
Not a chance we end up in league one. Burnley had a worse squad than us, lost 6 of their best players. Spent 35mil on mainly players from Europe nobody has ever heard of and loaned a few squad players from the prem and are waking the championship.

A lot of negativity on here…. I guess comes with being an Everton fan.

Personally I think that Palace will get beat midweek and Brentford will bounce back to get something (1 or 3 points) at Southampton.

Newcastle to get something at Forest on Friday and then losses for Bournemouth, Southampton, Leicester and Palace again at the weekend.

No reason we can’t go to Chelsea Sat night and get at least a point.

However, even if we don’t…. With Southampton and Palace IMO getting no more than 1 point between them in 2 games each over the next week, then you can argue that we are still better off after 1 of our historically more difficult games that we have left.

I fear Goodison in the Championship would be simply unviable. The atmosphere would be toxic within 10 minutes unless we were 2 up.

No reason why we can’t aim for 4 points from the next 3 games…. Win when Fulham come to Goodison, and let’s hope we can be sitting on 32 points with 7 games left.

I like your attitude.

I posted elsewhere we should go all out for 4 from the next three games - draw at Chelski beat Spuds - might even pick something up at OT although not hopeful.

If we could get those 4 then yes, we must go on and beat Fulham to give us momentum for the run in.

I think every fan is gona be looking at the other teams around them...Villa beat us so they bettered that result.

I still look around and feel we're one the weakest squads in the fight but Dyche in the short time he's been here looks to have us fairly well drilled and up for a fight which will rightly make other teams fans feel more nervous about us than they would have a couple of months previous.

I had a poke around in some West Ham and Leicester forums over the weekend. There’s exactly the same doom posts on both as here. No doubt you’ll find the same from Leeds fans, too.

It’s only natural.

The reality is that at this stage of the season, teams are pretty much where they deserve to be. So anyone around us is about the same in terms of ability.

As bad as we might think we are, we only need to reach the dizzy heights of being the fourth worst side in the league.
