”If” we make it through and achieve survival this season, the summer(and I know we said it after last season too)requires a total root/branch clear out from top to bottom, whether Moshiri is still at the wheel or not,I like the rest of you on here and Evertonians everywhere are sick of the total dismantling/immobilisation/watering down of a proud, historic footballing institution to where we stand nowadays,a laughing stock that the assorted media take pleasure in belittling, enough has to be enough,I thought we had reached a watershed finally after Palace last season, obviously not, let’s start the first steps in bringing NSNO back to our beloved club.

According to some, Dyche is on course to have us lift the title, win Eurovision and sneak a semi final of Wimbledon! Amazing times!

The same people will definitely be saying we will be relegated after the next 3 games. We could easily get 3 or 4 points but likewise we could get zero.

The problem is we have 2 of our most winnable games in our last two games, those possible 6 points would make a huge difference in the end. It may work out in our favour if Wolves are already safe by then or perhaps are 4 points behind us leading us to Bournemouth who simply we have to beat if we need to. If we don't we don't deserve to be in this league but with the fans in total full voice we should.

Obviously you just hope we win a few on the bounce and don't need to go down to the wire, but that would be a very un Everton type thing to do. The upshot is people shouldn't get too high with the wins or too low with defeats, the fact we have roped in teams many people thought we wouldn't is a massive shot in the arm from where we were.

That's a positive weekend for us. If we can have a few more of those, we'll be ok. We got our three points - that was the only requirement this weekend. Everything else is punditry.

But, we all like a bit of punditry, so here goes...

No gain or loss on Bournemouth - but that's a better outcome for them than us. Beating Liverpool is a huge bonus for them, while our win over Brentford would have been considered a possibility by their fans prior to yesterday. In other words, they might have expected to lose ground on us - but they didn't.

We gained two points on Southampton - but, again, they mitigated that loss with an unexpected point. However, given the way their game went, it's possible to see this as a missed opportunity for Southampton to really have put the cat amongst our pigeons.

We gained two points on Leeds - given both they and us were at home against similarly difficult opponents, I think we've got the right to claim the advantage this weekend.

We gained two points on West Ham - and, on the face of it, we can claim the edge here too given that they, like us, were at home - and they were playing a slightly weaker opponent than we were. But, they might argue they took a point from a home game against a side we lost to at home a fortnight ago, so there is that.

We gained three points on Leicester - Chelsea was never going to be easy, but Leicester, like us, were at home and would surely have hoped to mitigate any gain we might make on them by getting a point - or seeing Brentford taking something from Goodison.

We gained three points on Forest - advantage us. They might have been expected to lose at Spurs, but we would not have been shoe-ins to win, so a clear gain for us this week.

We gained three points on Wolves - a definite and unequivocal win for us here.

We gained three points on Palace - a good outcome for us. While Palace would have expected nothing against City, we were not guaranteed to win, so advantage Everton.

So, undoubtedly a positive weekend. We'll need it, obviously, because the next game is a tough one. A point there would be a significant coup, and even if we lose some ground on others, it would mitigate the damage.

To summarise, @Drico is saying it was a rather peng set of results for us this weekend.

I'm hoping that even if our 'best board in the premier league' can't manage it themselves, hopefully some contract issues will force their hand, and if Transfermarkt is correct we can easily let go Mina, Longergan, Townsend, Vinagre, Doucoure ... Mina & Doucoure are tougher ones, but if we want to grow we have to upgrade those types of players that we depend on. unfortunately Keane & Holgate are contracted till 25 and now Dyche might not sell Keane, but hopefully we can sell Holgate, Davies too. Shame that Maupay is under contract till 25 as well, but I hope we can move him on, as well as maybe Simms or Dobbin.
