If we can get to 30 points by mid April after the Fulham game - which I think is likely - we'd have 7 games to pile up another 6 points to stay in the PL.

In all likelihood, on current form, we'll end up with somewhere between 38-42 points.

Take a look at the last 8 or so games form guide for our rivals - they are woeful. We're midtable level form and - apart from Wolves - they're all about as bad as each other in relegation form.

Which is why I'd be surprised if we needed more than 37 points.

I mean let's get 45 anyway just to be extra safe...
You just need to look at the charmed life Palace are leading in 12th to see how few points the teams in the battle are picking up. They've won once since the World Cup and teams still aren't able to get past them.

Seeing absolutely nothing in our away form to convince me, even with the change of manager. Dycheball may work at home when we have the crowd behind us, but away we are as poor as we were under Lampard. the only point we have is Forest away? Not good enough.

The Southampton result coupled with Bournemouth yesterday are the kinds of results that spell disaster for us unless we can pick up points on the road. I'm afraid I am seeing nothing to give us hope in that regard.

Are we winning all our home games or something, because otherwise I just dont see the optimism spouted here.
We got a point at Forest , should have picked up 3.

I’m not sure if this relegation battle is better or worse than last year. It ended up being just 3 teams for 1 place. This season is shaping up being 8 teams for 3 places, 1 or may get out of it over the next month I fancy wolves to get themselves safe soon. I do feel more comfortable this season with dyche than I did with Lampard.

We weren't that bad at forest...one of the most difficult ground. Should have got the 3 points really. I am sure we'll get some great results away in the remaining fixtures.

lol

That S'ton result was a disaster for them. It tells you all you need to know about them.

Brentford will muller them midweek.

We've had 3 away games under Dyche - two of which were at Anfield and Emirates which we never win regardless.

Way too early to start comparing anything to the dross served up by Tory Frankel.

Mate, I showed the table a few days ago from this point last season...it was competitive with only Norwich looking like they'd gone already.

The next few weeks will see a shaking out of the wheat from the chaff.

Last season we were 5 points adrift of safety with 2 games in hand but having to win them both and with about 6 games left in the season.

In other words: this is a cake walk in comparison with that...even allowing for no Richarlison this time around.

Just looking at the table after today’s games and realising it’s giving off a false sense of security
Current league position doesn't count for a huge amount when all 5 teams below us have a game in hand on us and are all within 1-3 points of us. Each one will be thinking they go above us if they do their jobs. We have to do ours as well as rely on other teams.

It's scary being optimistic but it is very possible to get more points against Man U, Chelsea, Spurs and Fulham, and we're gonna need a win from one of those I think so that we don't leave ourselves too much to do in the last 3 games.
