I can't agree. Southampton have just taken a point at Old Trafford and won last month at Chelsea. Bournemouth have beaten Liverpool yesterday. Forest drew with City a few weeks ago. And I'll never accept we have no chance against Brighton and Hove Albion.

These matches are opportunities to take points. We need to start doing so.

It was just my rough estimate based on my own predictions, which are almost always wrong.

I dont think it will go to 40 but who knows. We need to just focus on the next game until things become clearer.

If we win 4 more games then we aren't going down. Thats the simplest way to look at it.

I expected the same but would take two draws over that. Southampton result is definitely a bullet dodged.

Bad result for West Ham. If our loss to Villa was the death knell some made it out to be then a home draw is not much better. Decent point for Southampton away but I had them down for three once United went to ten so will take that. Now just need barcodes to see off Wolves.

And when we all play each other then points are dropped by someone or both teams. The more teams involved for as long as possible, the better our chances.

the concern is the number of points that some of these bottom feeders are getting against top opposition.

Bournemouth and now Southampton this weekend for example.

40 is possible IMO, given some of the 'odd' results occurring.

Drive ourselves insane looking at other results, I've favourited Southampton an West Ham matches on flashscore to get goal alerts but starting to think probably healthier to just think we need 4 more wins.

Get those, and we should be safe.

I've been a Villa , United and Newcastle fan in one afternoon.
