>> The average age of the Blues team which lined up against Sunderland on Boxing day was 30

That's not because we don't have younger players, it's because Moyes won't play them over his out of form stalwarts.

doesnt look like a takeover is the pipeline does it like people have suggested. moyes seems fed up as per with no light at the end of the tunnel. what a sad state of affairs...

I like Craig Gordon. He was a £9m+ goalkeeper until injuries halted his career. If he's going to get as much game time as Mucha anyway, then it doesn't really matter who we have on the bench. I wouldn't call it planning for the future though that Moyes has a 33 year old, a 28 year old and a 39 year old in his goalkeeping department. We could do with bringing that age group down.

Not really. We have young goalkeepers they just havnt made the step up yet.

33 is nothing for a Goalkeeper. I can easily see Howard playing until his late 30's and Moyes seems to like him so I cant see it changing any time soon.

I assume Hannahman is there more in a possible coaching capacity down the line and Mucha wont be here much longer I reckon. Gordon will want decent wages anyway so we may as well get a cheaper option as sub goalie.

or because felli and rodwell are injured, vellios isn't ready to start and neither is barkley.

Billys leaving in Jan I would be suprised if Drenthe stays past his loan spell

If Mcfadden and Straq are going to be our front 2 we might aswell give up now

We also need a playmaker to replace Arteta

So thats a Center Mid,Left Winger,Right Winger and two strikers at the very least

if McFadden and Straq are up front and starting games i take it will will be playing in the Npower championship then:toilet:

so you mean to tell me that Mcfadden is better than Barkley and should play ahead of him like he did again
sunderland give me a break:@ you wonder whats going through Ross Barkleys mind when he see's this sh.t
going on

I think so too.

Course mate.

The sad thing is, it's not even our opinion, it's factual. When Barkley started against QPR he was our best player on the pitch = he's ready. Vellios started against Fulham, not his best performance but he is ready to start.

It's more longevity for me. Neither are ready to start each game, every week, but they have to be ready for more minutes than they're getting. Barkley especially.

Vellios has been written off by some as a starter because of his ineffectual performances when he has started, but I've been ripping my hair out when people have put forth that argument. He's started twice with Cahill behind, and had no support. His goals have come as a sub, true, but also when we've been on the offensive late in games and committed more men forward. I'd love to see him play with either Saha or Osman behind, and he's shown more than Stracqualursi -- both are good in the air and strong but Vellios is good with his feet too whereas Stracq's got the touch of a serial rapist amputee with katanas for arms.
