The problem is if/when we go down, we could be in the Championship for many many years.
At worst we carry on winning and competing for nowt but in a different league.
At best we challenge for the Championship and compete for promotion, which is probably a lot more exciting than most of the last twenty odd years.
At the utmost worst we continue fighting relegation just in a different league.

We'll get beat tonight, but we'll stay in the PL this season.

There's a massive over-estimation of not having a strike-force. We've won two games in the last 4 and created enough chances to win 3.

The team are adapting to the task and I expect enough points to get us clear.

That's not what the huge amount of cry-babies on here will want to hear, but I just thought I'd say it.
In general I'm more confident of survival with Dyche in charge.

The Forest game will be key though. We can't afford to lose that at the least considering the expected defeat this evening.

We have to be able to quickly get over disappointment, defeat to Forest and that's in all likelihood three defeats on the spin. It takes a lot to pick up a limited squad from that without spiralling.

Have to see where we are after the weekend. At this stage I see it as a straight fight between us and Leeds. We are down anyway if we fail to finish above both B'mouth and Soton.

Dyche vs Gracia as to who can set their side up to eek out enough points. I'd back Dyche in that scenario but it's about staying in touch first and surviving later.

Tell them, Dave!

It’s 50/50 for me - which tbf is much better than I thought under Lampard.

Games will come down to moments (Coleman v leeds, tarkowski post v liverpool, maupay miss and gana foul on Saturday) - can we get on the right side of most/enough of those moments before the season is out.

. If dyche gets appointed January 1st even with no signings I reckon we survive
. If we’d have signed 1/2 strikers on deadline day we survive
. Now it’s a coin toss situation for me.

That's a fair summary. The manager stepped into a mess and we're up against it...more so than last season.

It is a toss up right at this moment.

I think we'll view things differently with every round of results for us and our relegation rivals. Tonight I expect nothing. But in their next matches do Leeds look like getting a result against Chelsea away, West Ham against Brighton away, Wolves against Spurs at home, B'mouth away to Arsenal?

These clubs around us are terrible. Just terrible. Will one or two clubs between 20th and 13th grow wings and get a series of wins and get out of it? Yes, probably they will. But there'll be 5 maybe 6 besides S'ton who wont, and they'll be in this with us to the last few games of the season.

Most clubs down there aren't getting safe until the last 2/3 games IMO. So we need to keep adapting to our more or less striker-less attack and keep creating chances. If we do that we have a good chance of being a PL club next season.

You say that clubs around us are terrible but most of them are trying to put up a fight. Dyche has just got us to show some metal but the bottom line is we are low on quality and don't know where the net is. So, how exactly do you think we will adapt when we cannot score goals? All I see is the odd decent performance but in games where we concede first, I just don't see these guys having the wherewithal to get us back in the game.

This actually just highlights the issue of having such a poor strike force. Creating chances and missing them doesn’t give us any extra points. Not being able to put the ball into the net is exactly why we are where we are.

Our relegation rivals are undoubtedly every bit as terrible as Everton have been this season. The table doesn't lie.

Also, you say we cant find the net...but we have under Dyche - twice to take 6 points. We now play in a different way with plenty of attempts to get the ball into the opposition box. It's a work in progress but the players have adapted to it. But dont think that goal totals are the only things that matter. As I said above, Wolves are 3 places above us having scored 1 more goal; and Forest are 5 places above us having scored 1 more goal.

You have to create chances to score. And we HAVE put the ball into the net to get points. It's like you and others have completely dismissed those wins and goals scored in those matches because it contradicts your belief that we cant score goals without strikers on the pitch.

What are you going on about? We have scored 17 goals all season, we’ve scored more than 1 goal in a game on TWO occasions, and I’m the one being unreasonable by suggesting we don’t score many goals? We quite clearly struggle to score goals and I’m not sure what you’re gaining by trying to pretend we don’t.
