The squad is utter Championship dross, isn't it?

McNeil, Gray, Maupay, Simms, Doucouré, Davies, Mykolenko, Keane, Godfrey, Holgate, Townsend, Iwobi.

I doubt any of these start for any other team in the Premier League. Maybe you could, at a push, put Iwobi into an injury-ravaged, relegation-battling outfit, but I don't see any of the others getting a start elsewhere.

From that list, at least 4 of those will likely start for us, week in, week out - and it's not because we have better players out injured. Our squad really is just pathetic.

And that's why we're going down.

I heard somewhere if we finish the season they way we’ve played up to now, we’ll end up the team with the lowest number of goals scored in premier league history. Does anyone know if that’s true? Utterly depressing if so.

No it’s not true, Derby scored 20 goals in 07/08.

Lowest is 20, we're on 17 with 14 games to go.

Quite funny that we have a better defensive record than spurs and Fulham, well not funny.. But it's a fact for you, enjoy it

Would the attitude be different had we lost to Arsenal but beat Villa? Genuinely curious.

I don’t think it would be, everyone is more preoccupied with the teams around us than ourselves. When we beat Leeds everyone was too busy melting down over Southampton and Bournemouth winning to be happy.

And they were right to do so. Sacking Lampard too late, left us with far too little margin for error.

We have seen vast improvements with this squad since Dyche took over and hopefully we start to see more results to back that up. It may not be tomorrow but I do have faith in Dyche and what we have seen so far. Remember, this same squad minus Gordon went 7 straight unbeaten early on in the season.
