Yep, in the same way that some go way OTT after a win - a win helps, a defeat makes it a touch difficult, some go OTT either way depending on whatever the result of whatever game we are playing
It’s the internet’s fault.

One win, we’ll get Europe. One defeat, we’re dead cert to drop.

It’s not healthy imo. Let’s all chill out and learn how to bodyslam.

Because people would prefer to have a total melt down than be positive in any way.
Let’s be fair - it’s pretty hard finding any positivity in falling into the relegation zone again after a 2v0 home defeat against a team on paper that’s very beatable and probably one of our easiest fixtures left.

I think Dyche has done brilliantly so far with the turnaround in performance and the two wins he’s had but it’s a dreadful time to be an evertonian and there’s no glossing over that.

4 points off 13th, but we’re absolutely definitely relegated.

Incredible.
It’s the trend that frightens people - not the current position.

We were never winning three out of four. We are at the bottom for a reason. Yesterday is no shock. I’d have been delighted with a point.

We have a chance to stay up. It might go to the final day. But the trend is terrifying and without a striker worth the name, pessimism is arguably a more realistic position now.

Lack of goals makes our task a grim one. We have a fighting chance, but that recedes significantly if we are 6 points from 18 this time next week.

Remain calm.

Let’s not panic after one defeat (derby notwithstanding).
Its not good to panic but its not good to underplay the seriousness of the situation either. Weve been trending towards relegation for some time and are in the bottom 3 come March again. I certainly don't see positives in this scenario. We are in a worse position than this time last year and we only just sneaked over the line last season.

I see it as a 50 50 situation now. We need to fight to the final whistle of the final game but yesterday is a huge missed opportunity. People are entitled to be very disappointed. I certainly see it as a huge dent in our chances.

How we react to it will determine our fate. If we lose both our next 2 games away from home then I do not believe we have it in us to turn it around. Its an enormous fortnight...

Agreed, we didn’t but we will get a break on and then, unfortunately not enough to get to 36 points. I also agree with you that failing the return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin we have to go with Simms. He appears to be the only forward we have that matches Dyche’s style of play. As for Maupay, I think we just have to write him off as another aberration.
We dont know that. And we dont know that 36 points will be needed either.

My 'takeaway' after the first 4 Dyche games is that we can expect an improvement in effort from Lampard's days and we will be more in and around the opposition box...and we wont have as many collapses.

The rest of them down there are rubbish. We are too in relation to the way we were a few years ago, but IMO we have a better team than 6/7 teams in this division.

If we take our chances then we'll just about stay up. If we dont then we're down. Simple as that for me.

I'm not sure. I cant even remember the last time they backed up a good result with another good result. There's something wrong with the mentality of the squad, as well as the lack of ability
We have to analyse on Dyche's spell alone.

After Arsenal we had Liverpool. That was never going to be a back to back win with them needing to prove something; after Leeds we had another decent team ou to prove they could stop the rot.

I don’t disagree with much of what you say, I think I am more pessimistic in regard to our lack of a goal scorer, if DCL was fit and playing well I think we would rise up the table, unfortunately that is not the current state of affairs. I think we have a better back line and midfield than the other relegation candidates but I think they have better goal scorers. They don’t need to create as much as we do to get a goal and therefore a chance of winning. 17 goals in 24 games is a damming indictment of our current overall squad.
