Assuming 39pts will do the job I can't find 6 wins looking at the remaining fixtures (but accept probably hyper-negative blue tinted specs may be influencing that). I think draws may become important, 5 wins and 3 draws / 4 wins and 6 draws?

The more teams that get pulled into the relegation scrap the better

….it’s a difficult one is that. Not sure if it’s better to get a few detached and scrap it out, or have 6 fighting for 3 places.

Regardless, at this stage it’s just about us winning 5 more games to give us a chance. ‘5 more’ sounds a lot better than ‘7 more’ just a few weeks ago.

….can’t have Leicester. Certainly can’t have Leicester finishing below Forest.

I think Forest are key to our survival. We need to win two more games than Forest. We need to finish above Forest to survive.

Not necessarily. We could finish above three of the 4 currently below us.

Forest are extremely good at home, and that usually gets you to safety. If we finish above one of Leeds and West Ham, I think we have a very good chance of safety.

No one can be ruled out yet, especially not after today's scorelines. So we have a lot more work to do. Today is just one small step towards safety, and needs to be backed up again starting against Villa.

Could Villa potentially be that team?

I thought that but I think they have enough about them to get 8 points or so from remaining fixtures.
I think psychologically having gone through a managerial change, within the club, their will be a reluctance to focus on anything other than ensuring top flight football.

But Palace, West Ham and Leicester won't have been thinking it at all imho.

Fair does, but in that case maybe you need to be more specific...i mean there are alot of transfer windows in Evertons history. Maybe you mean we have made errors recently with certain players who havent demonstrated they have the quality for the PL, but i mean its not like plenty of money hasnt been spent?
We sold our only fit goalscoring option and never replaced him in not 1 but over 2 windows even after knowing for over a year he was going to be sold that’s what I think they meant

There’ll be teams above us who will be having nightmares after seeing Dyche get those two wins for us. They’ll have written us off as one of the favourites to go down, the win against Arsenal will have been a hammerblow for some of them.

It's still hard at this point to say what is and isn't a good result. For me, if we lost today Bournemouth winning would be a terrible result for us, but because we won it becomes a good result because we've kept them behind us AND gained three points on a team above us. Which proves the point that it's really just all about us.

Everyone keeps expecting West Ham to pull away easily and they might but there bad run of form started in the second half of last season and theyv brought it into this one now maybe there just crap like us and had a lucky cup run
