I just didnt know what you mean by 'bottled it'.
bottled it meaning is to not do something because you are frightened; to fail at something because you are frightened. So i wasnt sure what you meant by that. Seems we have straightened it out that when you said 'bottled it' you meant Everton spent loads of money on average players over numerous transfer windows.
I still consider them bottling it. They failed at something they promised to do, like bringing in a striker or players to improve our squad. I’m not sure the point of getting worked up over a word. I think we are on the same page though. Massive win today. Let’s get after Villa next!

They need to ditch Bamford, as badly off the pace as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is. Thought that other striker who came on looked lively albeit he preferred to pick up the ball in wide positions.

Also weak defending set plays given Tarks nearly scored again and I actually think Meslier is one of the worst keepers in the league, Pickford would get crucified all week in the press for conceding that sort of goal today.

They'll be scrambling for points on the last day for sure again.
They finish City A Newcastle H West Ham A Spurs H, they better have their points in the bag before that run

Im not worked up. Anyway, yes i think we are on similar pages. COYB. :)

Great win today but the relegation fight is gonna be crazy this season, normally at this point there is at least 1 team dead and buried. But not this season.
All we can do is focus on ourselves and try and get to 40 points. 5 more wins and 4 more draws, COYBS

Leicester will be right in this dogfight in 2/3 weeks.

The relegation scrap is between us and:

S'ton
Leeds
B'mouth
West Ham
Wolves
Leicester

….can’t have Leicester. Certainly can’t have Leicester finishing below Forest.

I think Forest are key to our survival. We need to win two more games than Forest. We need to finish above Forest to survive.

Today was a peculiar freak set of results.
Id say if you were a betting man only our result and Arsenal V villa would have been what one would deem expected.

It doesn't help like but I think the results today for Saints, Bournemouth will be outlier results rather than anything else.

Results couldn’t have been much worse other than us not winning today. Coupon buster as they say

The results today have made the bottom half of the table really tight. Any 3 from Palace in 12th down could be relegated. Hopefully Dyche is right in his assessment of Onana’s knock and it isn’t going to keep him out. Massively missed him when he went off.
Garner and Patterson to come back into the squad next week should give better options from the bench. I’m a lot more optimistic now than I was at 2pm when I saw the team sheet!

True.
I see our result as a sign of managerial improvement. As was Arsenal as we battered them.

I see Saints winning and Bournemouth winning as just incredibly lucky.

I think Forest and Palace, if we finish above one of those there will be at least two other teams we will be ahead of as well.

Back in our hands. Didn't think I'd be saying that a few games ago. But a long long way from safety yet.
Priceless three points today but as you say a long way to go. There will be some difficult results ahead so I hope everyone keeps their heads when the difficult times arrive. But we have a better chance now. One game at a time
