That's not what I said.
There's a major difference between what's happening now before games than last season. I think that'll have a major impact on our eventual finishing place this season.
The fans are the only thing of worth about this club. If they choose to get Everton over the line and shelve all other considerations until a point when we're safe then I think we'll get safe. If there continues to be an open wound at the club with fans turning inward then we'll more than likely lose our PL status. The fans wont lose it for us, but the fans are the only ones who can prevent it happening.
I dont think you can do two things and keep them separate: protest and then support. It's not that the fans cant physically do both, it's just that the aura around the club cant handle it.
We either have responsibility exercised by the only force that matters at Everton: the fans, or we're sunk.
That's my opinion. If this was going on at Leeds or West Ham I'd see them as weakened.
