I really dont think moyes is the problem

I'm sure this is a bait but fuming so I'll snatch it.
The goal was Distins fault, his error alone lead to it. Hibbo had a good game. Moyes' tactic is to setup as defensive as possible so the fact that our defence leaks goals is a testamant of Moyes tactics not working. 0-0 would be more likely if we'd not invite so much pressure upon us and if we'd pose a goal threat ourselves, and while lack of signings does have an influence on that, it's more to do with Moyes picking the wrong players from the available options. For example Tim Cahill has either no reason to be on the team, or he is in the XI because he can win defensive headers. For the past month I've flirted with the anti-Moyes side, and today I've finally made the final step over the line to join their ranks.

hibbo did have a good game, however, the back four need to work as a unit, infact the TEAM need to, and there was no one in the right back position marking that lad. Distins decision to lunge in vs sessegnon was ridiculous, but there was no cover.

the one thing i disagree with, is why the hell we have everyone in the box for a corner. saha came closer to scoring an own goal today. if he was on the half way line, where he should be, itd be fine. -- this is the one gripe i have with moyes.

its moyes ..it has been for a couple of seasons now,he knows his hands are tied regarding finances but as ambitious as he his, still continues to adapt a negative style of football,if kenwright would have had any balls about him he would have sacked the boring fooker years ago,but now we are an average team,a slleping giant that will never be woken up with them two at the helm

oh you did did ya? are you a BU now

It's not the defence that is the problem and i can tell you why in one fact...

5th Best defence in the league with 20 goals conceded, Spurs have 19, United have 15 and City/Liverpool have 14.

It's nothing to do with a poor defence.

Very good point.

Our 7th place finish was more down to the fact that everyone who finished below us was utterly gash.

Well, a year ago I was labelled a Kopite drug addict for criticising Moyes following a 2-1 win over Man City, because I correctly pointed out that despite the short term euphoria of three points, the performance and mindset was shocking and it'd result in bad things down the road.

Twelve months later, I am utterly not surprised to see I'm right. I'm not wishing to say "I told you so", as I wish more than anybody could know that I was wrong, but it was so glaringly obvious. You might fluke a few results here and there with the mindset Moyes has. You might even go on a four or five game run. You might even go ten games unbeaten in the latter stages of the season when there's no pressure on. But if you haven't got the mindset right, you won't win consistently when it matters, when you start a season afresh, when there's a cup tie to decided inside 90 minutes.

I'm going to make two very bold, but in my mind very safe predictions. Firstly, we will never win anything at all under David Moyes. Secondly, if Moyes remains the manager of Everton by this time 2014, we will be in the relegation zone come Christmas and we will go down May 2015.

And once again, I hope against hope I'm wrong.

I read on the executioner's bong blog (brilliant, do read it) that at home we've conceded fewer shots per game than any other team in the league. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc least are teams like Chelsea, City and so on as you'd expect (although United have conceded the most). Anyway, this statistic astounded me.

I think that the problem is opposing defences to us have a lot of time to get in position, knowing what we'll do (left flank cross). When teams score against us it's often on the counter and against the run of play, but goals on the counter are so much harder to defend against. By definition they are fast and unpredictable and that makes them hard to defend against, as our defence try and scurry into position.

I don't know, that's just my theory anyway. Basically because we're sh*te at one end the ball just comes back, but it comes back with more incision, intelligence and pace than we offer, and we have a harder job defending.

I THINK YOU BETTER BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR I MEAN WHO WOULD WE GET IN ITS A JOKE REALLY MOYES HAS KEEPEN THIS CLUB UP FOR YEARS NOW I HEARD MESELF THAT WALTER SMITH WAS FORCED OUT CAUSE OF MOYES AMAZING CV ITS A JOKE REALLY THINK ABOUT THE 4TH PLACE FINISHES AND EUROPE EVERY YEAR THE MAN WILL LEAD US FORWARD CAHILL SIGNING OF THE MILLENIUM FOLLOWED BY DA SILVA ITS A JOKE REALLY!!

It's moyes' fault for making NOTHING BUT DEFENSE IS GOOD ENOUGH the motto around here. The strikers he plays have more defending duties than attacking duties.

FFS why can't you predict we will be bought by a billionaire, Moyes get sack the next day and we win the league by Christmas of 2012.

I'm with you lad. I have no faith in Moyes, none!

If he had to chose between C.Ronaldo or Messi to start, he'll ignore them and ask Anichebe to come in cos he can defend A BIT!

You are spot on mate. It's been 3 years and Moyes still can't sort out our vulnerability towards counter attack. I don't think he has a clue how to.

I know everyone can have their own opinion but I am personally tired of blaming Moyes for everything that happens. Yes, could he make some better decisions with regarding to playing a few different players. However, how about the 11 professionals who pull on the shirt every game to step on the field? When do the players as a whole take some of the responsibility. I know you can just use circular thinking and say, "Well player X hasn't played well because of Moyes tactics and if it wasn't for Moyes he would play much better". How about being responsible for their own performance. People are letting the players off way to easy on all of this.

I have read in various threads that following players all are terrible; Saha, Cahill, Jags, Distin, Heitinga, Coleman, Rodwell, and Hibbert. Does anyone actually believe they are all bad players? Is it easy to say that Moyes should change his tactics and then the flood gates would open? How about the players stop playing like a bunch of Sunday League players and step up and play like professionals. Take responsibility for how they are performing. Stop blaming JUST the manager (He deserves some) and blame the players

You know something mate? Who is the person who consistently pick the underperforming can't be arse players?
Really can't defend Moyes tbh
