Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Evening everyone. Been a busy couple of days.
Yesterday was the annual Southport Table Tennis tournament. Started at 9am and finished at 7pm. I wasn't playing but helped organise, umpired loads of matches and presented the winners trophies. Long old day
Today been glorious and I've been gardening all today.
Just settling down to watch the Derby and as usual have zero expectations of us getting a result.

Well that was disappointing wasn’t it! The difference in the attitude and drive shown against Arsenal was striking and we just didn’t give an account of ourselves at all.

Huge pressure on Saturday for a result but tonight the RS provided Leeds with the counterattacking blueprint of how to take the points.

What we all wouldn’t give for a mid table season of nothingness.

I have far more confidence of a performance at home than an away one, let alone one at that shed. Unfortunately for us, it was always going to be a tricky game.

The sad part was our lack of desire - they wanted the ball more and it showed. I'd been at United a few hours earlier, and they were all willing us on to victory too.

Hello everybody. Last night was disappointing. It was a really rubbish game too. I was expecting the usual 100 mph Derby match and it was all a bit dull. However 3 points from Arsenal and Liverpool is probably more than I expected. The next two are critical though. Must win the home games.

Not much happening here. I've mostly been working. When I took Mr F to work this morning I had to de-ice the car! Not fun.

Oh and Happy Valentines Day to you all. Here's my favourite greeting on this special day?FB_IMG_1676366946354.webp

Just don't see where we are going to score enough/ any goals to stay up.

I'm not making any predictions one way or the other Jazz. But Dyche has made a career out of 1-0 scorelines, and we actually once qualified for the Champions League on the back of 1-0 wins too.

What will determine our season is not games like last night, but our home games against the teams around us in the league. And despite our incredibly poor season so far, there are still many teams in the same boat as us. We've performed very poorly in those games so far this season. Hopefully Dyche can reverse that trend.

fingers crossed. it was pitiful last night though

It's been a beautiful day down here. Popped out to the local this morning to pick up a pasty for lunch and it was so nice I decided to go for a walk this afternoon. Went to see Cal's friend Nikki first at the cottage where she works. Then carried on to the church on the headland (which was open for a change) and then took a short walk along the coastal path to my favourite place at the mouth of the Helford. The birds were in full voice, the early rhododendrons in full bloom, and the cows were back in the fields. It really felt like spring was here.

About 5 miles in total but not too strenuous for down here. Just a very nice leisurely walk with a couple of breaks to take in the sights. Really whetted my appetite for the coming months. ;)
