NFL 2022 Season

And yet Brady has won almost double the amount of Superbowls than all 3 of those combined. As a competitor and teammate, he blows all of them out of the water, and no amount of passing yards or tight spirals are going to change that in any retrospective. In all future list of best ever NFL players, Tom Brady will be #1.
Yeah I just don't believe in SBs as a measure of individuals and actually think the concept is completely misguided.

What do players compete for?
I get it but there's a million things that happens during a season and the quarterback might control 10% of them? That's a lot but it's also not nearly enough to then look at it and say that guy caused it alone which is now how we treat QBs.

Brady no doubt is one of the best QBs in NFL history. Seven rings attest to that. He's got one of the fastest release times ever, which more than made up for the fact he was as slow as a glacier and did a lot to negate opposing pass rushes.
But he was also blessed with outstanding defences, one of the best head coaches ever (even if Mr. Smiles was more a defensive specialist), very good offensive lines and some excellent receivers over the years, on a team playing in a division with three lousy teams. Basically, he was in the right place at the right time. No way he wins seven Super Bowls if he'd been drafted by any other organization.
He went to Tampa Bay because he saw the Patriots' time in the sun was dimming and because the Buccaneers were ready to win a Super Bowl. No way he would have gone to, say, the Jets.
And one has to wonder how his career would have gone had Drew Bledsoe not been injured.
All in all, a very skilled but also very lucky man. If only he hadn't been such a whiner.

The one talking about him as a winner? Yes. I just boiled it down to one word for you.

The reasons that he is a winning quarterback, where Rodgers, for all his "arm talent" isn't. Then again, you thought the 49ers having to resort to a 15 year jobber elevated from their practice roster didn't make any difference to their range of outcomes in a divisional game, so maybe you're just completely clueless idk

The Bucs had one winning record in the 10 years prior to him joining Tampa. He was also 43 years old and written off, with his legacy already secure with 6 Superbowl wins to his name. I don't think it was the predetermined outcome you're making it out to be tbh

I mean without resorting to definitely unnecessary insults I'll just say it's clear we have different interpretations of how much a QB actually does. I don't believe Purdy drove the 49ers success to the point that I'd say he's actually really good simply because the team won the same as I'd not give Brady massive amounts of credit for the 2001 SB because the team won. I think it's possible for teams to win with bad QB play (maybe not like it used to be pre-2010, but I just watched a 2000 Ravens doc last night) and for elite QBs to lose sometimes. So I try to strip out some of that when I look at who the best is. If you don't want to you will not be alone as it seems like the entire world is more than happy to line up QB stats like they're boxers. I just believe the other people in the ring matter a lot too.

The Bucs had the pieces in place that he needed -- solid O line, good defence and some talented receivers. He was the missing piece to that puzzle. Don't forget, he had his choice where to go; he chose the team he thought would give him his best chance at a seventh ring. And he may have been 43, but there's no doubt he was a fanatic about his health. He was in better shape than some players 10 years his junior.

People definitely had the Bucs down as a very talented team being held back by their QB turning the ball over an ungodly amount. Canuck is right. He went there for a reason.

he still had to go and win it, you think if Rodgers goes to the jets who are widely regarded as having a similar calibre roster they're going to win it all?

It could happen. You always need a little luck on your side.

Brady being in a situation that gave him a chance at it year after year helped a lot. And yes he was part of the consistency, but having a complete organization that allowed him to pick up wins when he played bad was a luxury almost no other QB has ever had for as long as he had it. He then booked it for a different complete team as soon as that luxury was gone in NE.
