If anything was happening, you'd think
@Tofeenut would have confirmed there's a medical or 3 lined up.
The fact they haven't mentioned anything makes me think we literally have no one lined up at this moment in time.
We'll be looking at bringing players in and there'll be irons in the fire, however we're not at the point of being close to medicals, which is sadly understandable.
In an ideal world, Thelwell would have been sorting incomings way before the window opened, but we all know that's not how Everton do things.
More so when you consider the managerial uncertainty and the style we look to implement - again, an issue with the inefficiencies of our leadership structure.
Dyche should be coming in as he fits the structure that the club would like him to adhere to, whereas in reality we're likely to once again change the approach.
This will mean signings will have to fit his approach, so we may have to look elsewhere. Does that give me confidence of long-term progress? Not one bit.
The additional Gordon cash, while a positive in many ways, will also add another complexity, as we won't have been factoring this into our original calculations.
We're either going to spend money on players who may do stuff in the short-term, but restrict us in the future; or, look for the future and perhaps go down.
If you look at clubs like Brighton, you know their approach now and in the future; with us, I haven't got a clue how the club wants to play now, let alone the future.
