Fire sale of our most tangible assets to cover the fact we have no money in the bank. Sell to buy which was the real reason for Richy going, not the FFP lie. Smells of the Rooney story for a start and I’m sure Bill is hawking our assets to all and sundry like a poor man walking into a pawn shop for a payday loan.

Regardless of form, quality is the difference maker here and without quality, we will not compete which is what we all want at the end of the day and not just to survive so although short term frustrations are to “sell everyone” you can’t build for the future if you sell the family jewels.

This shambles of a board will be trying to sell anything to be seen to be bringing players in but unfortunately we will end up with lower calibre players and go down further than just the championship.

The board and this current model of running a premiership football club is not sustainable and we only have 10% awareness of what is really going on behind the scenes.

If Bielsa came in and an offer came in for Onana we couldn't turn down, would City consider loaning Phillips?
I think any deal for Onana would have to come with a loan back til the end of the season, or just no deal. He'll go in the summer but I doubt any manager is sanctioning him leaving now with Tom Davies as his replacement

Yeah, if the money was right it would make sense to agree the deal for the summer but keep him til then. We have to be both realistic and clever and it would give us the money we need to spend now without losing a player.

Stories today of; Gordon, Keane and Doucoure all wanting to leave, Pickford had been linked with a move as well earlier in the window. Surely we can’t sell anyone without a manager? Unless the deal is a massive offer we can’t turn down for FFP reasons?

Would be smart to ask, regardless of Onana's status. He was by far the most important player in Bielsa's team and they struggled when he was hurt last season. But Pep is in love with him and probably wouldn't sanction it even though he doesn't really need him for the rest of this season.

The DoF model is that you can buy and sell without a manager, not ideal admittedly, but it's there for continuity.

He will play a lot more when the Champions League starts up again in a few weeks. Not a chance that they would loan him out

I’d take offers for any of our players tbh, they’re not good enough. That being said, I wouldn’t trust Everton to replace them adequately anyway.
