January Transfer Window 2023

31 years old, £15m, 1 goal this season, 4 goals in 34 appearances for his country, only ever really played in Italy.

Sometimes I wonder why swearing isn’t allowed on this forum, this is an insane transfer to attempt to save us. Does anyone have a brain at our football club?!?
He's not actually a bad player. However, he is too old and incredibly injury prone. This kind of signing would only make sense IF a couple of wingers and an Attacking midfielder were coming in too.

Club just panicking as usual. Showing very little work has been going on behind the scenes since the last window and are now scattergunning. Always reactive, never proactive.

We can kiss goodbye to signings after yesterdays antics.

Who will come now?
Seriously??? Like every single South American, Turkish and Italian players deal with Ultra’s who make our lads display yesterday look like a belly tickle. They shouted some abuse at crap players, Bielsa had to threaten protesting supporters with a hand grenade when they were outside his gaff in Argentina?
the only negative effect recruitment wise is that players agents will increase their wage demands!

I rather him than Ings. Cheaper as well. Ok a year older but he is tall and strong plus he has a record of scoring goals. We need to cross and go direct. We are desperate of firepower.
Zapata has had more injury issues in the last 2 seasons vs ings. A lot of those injuries are hamstrings related which for a nearly 32 year old is not a good sign.

What player who has seen on social media the way the current players at the club were being abused by the fans yesterday would decide to move here in this window? Nobody with choices would. Embarrassing behaviour yesterday, and damaging to the club, absolutely moronic.

COYB!

John.

And supposedly the dof has been doing a good job. The recruitment at everton has been the worst ever in world football. Panicking is the right word...they haven't a clue on how to run a football club.

That is not true.
There are plenty of good young players all over the world who would jump at the chance of playing in the Premiership
It’s a big risk for a good young player. There will be offers from better clubs than us. That’s the point really. If they come to us, it’s not to progress their career. You’re fooling yourselves if you think a catastrophic club in free fall is a good option for a promising youngster.

Remember being linked with Almiron.

Remember the outrage.

Good coaches improve players.
I would have take almiron before mcneill all day even last summer. I think that if we knew then that we wouldn't get any attacking players, people would have been happy with almiron. At least he would have been another option for us to change the game as well as competition on the right.

Agree but good players believe in themselves to perform
