Lets see if we can outpace a few defences. And keep it shored up.

Sure, but the continued growth of the sport in the U.S. requires at least some homegrown stars to stay and play in MLS. That is, after all, one of the main purposes of the "designated player" rules (allowing teams to exceed the salary cap to sign up to three players). LA Galaxy could not keep LD if they couldn't pay him market wages. That's really the truth - he's got nothing left to prove or do in the US. Time for a new challenge and try to make a name for himself outside the US. I get playing at home etc... but if you are a professional footballer, don't you have to see if you can cut it in the big leagues other than just for a brief cameo? Have to.
Nope. He has nothing to prove anywhere period. That's really the truth - he's got nothing left to prove or do in the US. Time for a new challenge and try to make a name for himself outside the US. 115 league goals. 94 league assists.
About 140 National Team caps.
Nearly 50 goals and 50 assists and 5 goals were in a world cup game.
Well when a player has played his whole life in the MLS and then comes to Everton and does well I think the developmental differences can be questioned. It's not the same level but I don't think Donovan would be any better had he been playing in England this whole time.So playing in MLS is the same level as playing in the PL?
