Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!!

I don't hang out in here anymore because I kept missing people's important posts due to the time difference and then I feel like crap, but I'm still around this crazy place! lol

I hope everyone is doing well!! I see @jazzy is back, so that's great news!

It seems that I live in one of the few places in the US that is not in the middle of the snow apocalypse, so yay for me!! Praying for all people and animals dealing with freezing weather!

And look, it appears Vegas is getting more Blue fans!! Much love to all of you this Christmas! :)

Good to see you back VTG.

Happy Christmas!

Afternoon all.

A slightly later start to prep than I had planned today, due to some rum-related shenanigans last night.

Back on track, though, which I’m sure will please @Barnfred 55 as I know he’s a keen follower of my Chrimbo progress.

Veg, herbs and chicken wings in the oven roasting for my gravy and about to get a quick stuffing knocked together.

After that I’ll finish the gravy, peel and boil the spuds, get the Turkey all dolled up and ready to go, make the blini batter and salmon mousse for breakfast and that’ll be me almost sorted for the morning.

The only job I’m consciously saving for later is father Chrimbo’s biscuits as the kid’s are at the MIL’s and I want them to help on that one.

Hope those that celebrate are having a lovely day so far and that that don’t are managing to successfully swerve the bombardment.
Gravy sounds good mate. We used to make ours with the turkey bits from the roasting tray and the water that we boiled the veg in. What's going in your stuffing?. And don't forget the pics. ;)

Prep train has pulled out of the station, Freddy Baby.

Turkey drippings will indeed finish the gravy on the morrow.

Stuffing consists of sausage meat, chestnuts, dried cranberries rehydrated in port and some herbs and whatnot. Breadcrumbs for a bit o’ body and an egg to bind like Jesus would have wanted.

PS: Obviously I’ve opened a beer. Helps with the oratory side of things.

That stuffing sounds the business, might have to get MrsD on that

Stuffing sounds very similar to what we used to do. Certainly the sausage meat, cranberries, chestnuts and breadcrumbs rings a bell.

Good decision with the beer. You can't do all that prepping without a drink in your hand. We used to have port. We'd normally finish off the bottle that we'd used to make the Cranberry sauce.;)

It's raw Brett. It'll look the dogs bollox when cooked mate.;)
Agreed. Half is nestled in the neck of the bird and the rest will be rolled into balls and roasted tomorrow.

Turkey is ready for the oven first thing, spuds boiled and ready to roast, salmon mousse for breakfast is done and gravy base is finished and all. Blini batter will be knocked up once kids are in bed and left to slow prove in the fridge, and biscuits will be made with their help after I’ve had a sit down and another beer because that’s gonna be an ordeal.A9DF39B9-9DCC-4962-8F2A-902D18370B38.webp
