Each to their own. He's always been an arrogant person, which hasn't really bothered me, but his actions in the past few months have really soured my view.

His recent behaviour at United, the interview and the whole petulance for his international team (should be above that) paint a picture of a nasty attitude.

A bit of magnanimity, especially as the international captain at a WC, isn't too much to ask; trying to look after your teammates isn't unrealistic.

To be fair his last chance of World Cup glory has just gone and in a pretty poor fashion. It must be hard as well being so good at what you do and then getting to the point of feeling "mortal".

Generally I have always thought of him to be a decent enough person off the pitch and a knob on it.

I said England or France would benefit from Belgium and then Spain's failings. You couldn't have asked for a better chance than facing Morocco or Portugal in a SF. Morocco and, to a lesser extent, Croatia are probably worn out.. Argentina (who aren't that great) could await.
