Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

In most ways, it's a fair insult: it's a pretty strange place. Nevertheless, I've a few good friends from there and worked a bit there, so I'm more open to the place.

I wouldn't go as far as recommending it. Still, it's miles ahead of places like Warrington or countless over towns or villages across the country that lack any character.
I worked in Warrington for 6 years. My very first job. You're right it has no real identity. Bang in between Liverpool and Manchester but shares nothing of either. However the folk I met were lovely, still friends with some of them. I also developed a soft spot for Rugby League- which is all they ever talked about.

Arrived in Liverpool after an OK journey. So busy on the roads though. Where is everyone going on a gloomy Saturday afternoon in November? The turn off from the M60 back on to the M62 was gridlocked and Peke Road - past the Jaguar factory and then the retail park was just as bad. However got here about 3.30 and I'm watching the France Denmark match with Dad.

The M60/M602 is a nightmare at the best of time.

In terms of Speke Road, the addition of the lights near the Metalbox (Evans Rd) and a bit further along at Woodend Ln has really impacted on the flow.

If you're caught out of the sequence, it can take ages to get from the Morrisons past the Retail Park. The rat run of Hale Rd and through Garston can be much easier.

Ooh hadn't thought about going that way!
