Remember when you could go into your GP's ? surgery.
Walk up to the reception, speak to another human, sit down for 5-10 minutes.
And then see an actual doctor.

….pre-Conservatives. Public services suffer under Tory governments, its their ideology.
i recall the quote defining ‘Compassionate Conservatives’; They cut your public services but apologise for doing so.
Dear god… give it a rest and take the politics to the CA forum…..
Is this the right place to state that I still hate Thatcher?
Not sure it will disappear but I firmly believe that it will be means tested. My Grandad left earlier aged 12 than that worked at Cronton Collery till he retired at 65 with a gift of a pocket watch & a OAP no private or firms pension as it was not worth while joining it at his age ......
He thought the OAP was fantastic - how correct he was- died at 74......
OAP will be a thing of the past imo in years to come......
I'm not sure that it matters what you call it but we will continue to pay in whether or not we receive anything. The best example of the government basically making things us is the ridiculous rules that they introduced around Child Benefit. One parent/partner earns £50,000+ meant you got nothing, two parents/partners earn £49,000 each you got it.…I suppose it is contributory based, so you only qualify if you have paid in or have sufficient credits. If it’s mean tested, I presume there will only be Pension Credit, not sure if NI Contributions would continue.
That's right. I remember old Dr Brewster puffing up the stair in his tweed suit. "Now whit's wrang wi ' you, young man?"I remember when your mum or dad could phone the GP surgery and they would come to your home to see you…….
I had this misfortune this morning.
….sorry, Pete, forgot you were on here.
