London….

What is it with this place. They have everything but produce nothing but money for themselves. The rest of us produce food, provide water and all the basic ingredients for living, but they do nothing apart from ULEV and other nonsense. Now I read that while we are all being softened up for energy reductions and likely electricity cut offs, London has just switched on its Christmas lights. It’s November ffs…we are barely past Halloween and haven’t as yet had Bonfire Night. When exactly do either we get to enjoy their benefits or they get to enjoy ours, I.e sod all…asking for @Brucewayne……
London as a city is like a tory. It takes what it can, thinks only of itself and thinks the world is fine so long as London looks good. No wonder you don't like it.

Was dragged there by the missus at the weekend, to the Albert Hall. Great venue obviously (apart from the dreadful acoustic) but the city is just full of people who look right through you as if you don't exist- unless you're paying the bill of course. Hateful place.

Tories. Metropolitan Tory elites, taking everything and leaving everyone else to starve.

The kind of Tories that folk in other areas aspire to be, deep down. Uber-Tories.

You want to move to London don't ya Pete?

Errrrrrr this was created as a direct result of thatcherite policies and capitalism in general, your sounding like an interventionist socialist lol... Or we could blame Khan as per

After years of being told how unfriendly Londoners were relative to Northerners I was very disappointed that not a single Northerner doffed their cap to me whilst walking down the streets of Liverpool or Manchester. It’s almost as if it’s actually the same as London and strangers tend to keep to themselves in big cities relative to the suburbs.

Who’d have thunk it.

As an aside, London has a Labour mayor and returns dozens of Labour MPs to Parliament. Look at the last couple of GE results maps: London is a stubborn bastion of Labour support in an otherwise Tory-voting south.

To label Londoners and their behaviour as "Tory" is questionable at best.

To the OP, definitely a conversation to be had about the use of electricity for large-scale Christmas lights displays in the current context of an energy crisis. And apart from that, any mention of Christmas prior to Remembrance Sunday is tasteless IMHO.

This response is definitely Tory.

Of course it’s Thatchers fault that London has switched its Christmas lights on at the beginning of November. Everything else is her fault…although she has been dead for years and Khan is the actual Mayor I believe…..

Its the Billboard Capital of England
