Really poor performance today. Was surprised to see Gray hooked before him as at least Demarai put in some good balls in the first half and held onto the ball better.

But we need to lay off the lad. This is a brutal league, especially for young lads. Have patience. Frank rates him and that is clearly for a reason.
This is the important part. The expectations on his shoulders from the fans, and perhaps the club too, due to last season cannot be helping.

He became a focal point for our fight for survival and this perception has stuck, even though in reality he should still be learning his game and use sparingly.

He should not be expected to be a first team regular, and doing so is testament to where we are as a club. I wouldn't start him for a few games.

But, does he also believe the hype himself? He can't be happy with his recent performances.

Your last point is his problem.

I agree he's young and shouldn't be expected to deliver every week.

His confidence has always outshine his product.

What's the opposite of buyers remorse? I have that from when we didn't sell him.

Doesn't help when the kin club are putting him in the spotlight all over social media calling him Starboy, ffs, kin embarrassing that they're fawning over him when he's no better than Damarai Gray who himself is absolutely diabolical on a good day.

Really poor today. Lost the ball just about everytime and caused no problems for them at all. We need better. We can't carry 2 players who don't contribute anything.

We knew we'd struggle for goals, history tells us gray won't post any decent numbers, it's easy to see why as his final ball isn't there and unfortunately I just see a younger version of gray in Gordon, hopefully he gets better at decision making. Today however he just wasn't at the races.

This may partly be a by-product of last season. The club and the fans hyped him up to be some prodigious talent because we needed a star - a saviour.

This has stuck: look at the club giving him the number ten shirt. It may mean little or nothing to some, but you can see the club's thinking behind it.

In reality, he was far from the finished article in all aspects, which was the most evident with the fact that many of his goals (if not all) took a deflection.

Confidence isn't a bad thing, but it has to be counter-balanced by humility and the realisation that you come with flaws too. This should be a priority for Frank.

If he doesn't buck his ideas up, he could easily be another one-season wonder rather than the player we hope he'll be.

I get your point because for me Gray is the better player, but I think you're underselling Demari.
