Its not fixed cost, its GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price). That means that if the stadium stays exactly as it is in design and construction, it will cost no more than £Xm. Essentially, the Main contractor takes the risks and responsibility on board. The stadium could still cost more though, and that is in the case of design changes for which the client is responsible as t would be unreasonable to expect the main contractor to take the responsibility and risk of that. That's why its cost certainty, as we will have the opportunity to spend more if we have the ability to, and we will have control over the amount extra that we spend by simply adding or not adding what we want.
Thanks for that mate.

Do you have the inside track on confirmation of that at the club mate?

I know you have a lot experience and expertise in the sector.

Not sure why the club couldn’t explain that, if that’s the case.

Whatever slim chance there was of commercial funding for the stadium is dead if this has any credence.

Its concerning. Fine to have a funding commitment for months to come but what if that suddenly comes to a halt?

In that scenario, the longer Moshiri leaves it in selling a stake, the bigger the loss he will make. And the greater likelihood of having to accept cowboy investment.

Interesting, and likely highly coincidental rather than good timing that Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced today that the Glazers were “nice boys” but not interested in a sale and that he would now look to acquire or invest in another Premier League club or “huge European club” instead.
Everton would be just perfect for him.... bright young manager, community-oriented club, fanatical and loyal support and of course a spanking new ground on the horizon.

In terms of suitability as a new owner I imagine he’d tick virtually all, if not every box. And, he’s not American.

Welcome Sir Jim.

That would be the absolute dream but I refuse to even think about it as I will get too excited.

This is what im hoping for, the clock is ticking, get out now and cut your losses, its only going to get worse, sooner he is gone the better for us but it also might be like that for him too.
It also might mean a potential new owner might be able to get us at a knock down price, which might sniff out a few buyers

Welcome Sir Jim.

Except everything he invests in sports wise goes to the dogs.

Fit right in then
