ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

We have been here before, football goes in cycles. Man United had theirs, Arsenal for a short while then Chelsea. Liverpool had their golden age when they won the league, they had been unstoppable for 2-3 years. Now it’s Man City.

Liverpool are in decline with an ageing squad. Their owners don’t like to spend without selling a major asset first. They have also invested heavily in the stadium and new training ground.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Henry sells up for a big profit as this Liverpool team needs a major rebuild. Their best players are all past 30+.

Klopp also must be thinking he hasn’t got a chance getting anywhere near this City side anymore and will probably be waiting for the call from Barca, Real or Bayern.

Henry has a cash cow in Liverpool. He has no need to sell.

They’re pretending that they don’t care on RAWK as it’s City so doesn’t count. Apparently we should all give our heads a wobble for preferring them not to be challenging City, for the good of the game.

Thought Arsenal and Spuds were challenging City, a three horse race is always better than a two horse race. Liverpool fans should embrace that, I have...

Liverpool's golden age was the late 70s and a lot of the 80s (until Everton knocked them off their perch on a regular basis and they finally fell apart by the 90s).

This current Liverpool didn't have a golden age. Their golden age was deluged by Man City domination of the title.

If this is a golden age - amounting to 4 cups, 1 league title in 30 years - then Everton must be in a silver age….

The Americans are all strapped in for the end goal of the super league and in house ownership of streaming rights. They’ll hang on for that but if either are at risk they’ll sell.

If they miss out on the CL we’ll just see the efforts for both to be ramped up massively. Henry wants risk free massive revenue from tv streaming of a comp that they can’t get relegated from. It will kill the game but that’s the end goal for him.

They do have an issue at the moment though. What was once a well oiled machine now needs a lot of it's components replacing and at the same time. At the level they want to compete at that is going to cost a lot of money too sort out. However as the saying goes in business, you have to spend money to make money.

It shows how clueless the Yank owners are RE the ESL when the European clubs are at an all time weakness and the PL clubs rule the roost.

Clubs like RS and Utd have zero chance of relegation either.

Just greed all they care about is the $$$

Then make it global. Are these prime candidates for being a moving franchise. Liverpool already have a local rival/ rivals competing for legacy fans. Maybe Asia?
