West Ham striker Callum Wilson has been linked with a move to Everton this month as the Toffees look to strengthen upfront.
It’s no secret that Everton need a goalscorer, and we’ve been linked with countless names in recent weeks.
Beto (2) and Thierno Barry (3) have managed just five league goals between them in 21 games.
Michael Keane has played two games fewer and has the same number of goals as Barry, and one more than Beto.
Fenerbahce forward Youssef En-Nesyri has been strongly linked. Indeed, a loan approach has been rumoured, with a £20m option-to-buy clause included.
Moyes reportedly had the Moroccan on his radar whilst at West Ham, so appears to have reignited his interest.
Meanwhile, West Ham forward Callum Wilson could be set to depart the London Stadium this month.
The 33-year-old is reportedly in talk to terminate his contract at the Hammers, meaning he’ll be available for free.
Wilson has a wealth of Premier League experience, and could be a decent signing on a short term deal.
The England international may be past his best, but there’s no doubt he’s a better finisher than our current options.
CALLUM WILSON COULD DO A JOB FOR THE TOFFEES
On a free transfer, he’s a gamble worth taking. Celtic also reportedly hold an interest in the forward.
The club cannot continue to rely on such a lacklustre strike force, especially with an opportunity for European qualification.
The Blues have once again been eliminated from both cup competitions by January.
However, with the league so congested, there is still plenty to play for. It’s an opportunity the club can’t afford to ignore.
Callum Wilson will by no means be a long term solution, but he could do a job until the end of the season.
