Nottingham Forest V Everton – What Happened Last Time Out?

Everton travel to the City Ground to take on Sean Dyche’s side tomorrow evening. We take a look at what happened the last time the two clubs met.

It seems like just a few weeks ago we played Forest. Well, that’s because it was. We welcomed Dyche and his players to Hill Dickinson at the beginning of the month and gave them a good spanking.

It was one of the performances of the season so far by the Toffees. A dominant and resounding 3-0 victory.

An opener inside two minutes got things off to a dream start, as Nikola Milenkovic put a Dewsbury-Hall cross into his own net.

Everton doubled the lead just before half time as Thierno Barry ended his long wait for a goal.

The young forward had gone 16 games without scoring, but made no mistake as he finished an Ndiaye-inspired counter attack.

I’d said to my mate ahead of kick-off I had a feeling Barry would score and regretted not putting a few quid on it. However, the beaming smile on the Frenchman’s face was payment enough.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall continuity to dictate the game into the second half, clipping the outside of the post.

However, he found the net late on, firing home a Jake O’Brien lay off to cap a remarkable midfield performance.

James Tarkowski almost found himself in hot water. An off-the-ball shoulder barge on Dan Ndoye was missed by referee Chris Kavanagh.

However, VAR did not see fit to intervene, prompting a Nottingham Forest complaint to PGMOL.

Petulant? Yes. Violent conduct? Behave.

This time around, the Blues will face Forest minus a few key figures. Dewsbury-Hall remains sidelined and Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye are on international duty.

Jack Grealish also missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Burnley, but hopefully he’ll be available for tomorrow’s clash.
