‘Our best attacking threat’: David Moyes Praises Tyler Dibling’s Burnley Display

Everton manager David Moyes has praised Tyler Dibling for his efforts at Turf Moor yesterday.

The Toffees drew 0-0 with Scott Parker’s side in a game which neither side really looked like winning.

Everton made the short journey to Lancashire missing a number of key players. To limit Moyes’ options even further, Jack Grealish was unavailable through illness.

However, one of the few positives to take was the performance of young Tyler Dibling. Making just his second Premier League start, Moyes insisted he was Everton’s ‘best attacking threat’.

He said: “I thought he (Dibling) played well today. I thought he’d done a lot of good things.

“Obviously, he’s getting used to us and getting used to the team and what’s required. He probably looked to our best attacking threat, to be honest.

“Certainly, in the first half, he had one or two moments and a couple in the second half as well. So, I’m pleased with him.

“He got himself booked in the late on, so we just made sure [by taking him off], there was no problem there.”

DIBLING DISPLAY ONE POSITIVE FROM OTHERWISE DISAPPOINTING AFTERNOON

Dibling has struggled for minutes on the pitch since his summer move from Southampton.

However, with our best creative outlets unavailable, the 19-year-old has a chance to establish himself at the Blues.

Indeed, it was a promising display from the teenager, who created Everton’s best chances of the game.

He also should’ve won his side a penalty when his shot struck a Burnley hand in the penalty area.

However, once again, the standards by which Everton are awarded a penalty were ridiculously high, so nothing was given.

The lad will get another run out on Tuesday at Notts Forest. He’s put in a strong performance, now hopefully he can build on that.
