‘Might have to settle’: Chris Sutton Predicts the Outcome of Burnley V Everton

Chris Sutton has predicted the outcome of today’s fixture at Turf Moor as Everton take on Burnley.

The Toffees travel to Lancashire for a rare 3pm kick-off against Scott Parker’s side.

Everton boss David Moyes confirmed there are no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game. However, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall remains sidelined.

Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye’s participation at AFCON means they will also be unavailable.

Despite being without a trio of influential players, today’s game is one the Blues should be taking maximum points.

Burnley are without a win since October. Indeed, a last-minute equaliser at Bournemouth last week ended a run of seven consecutive defeats.

However, Chris Sutton believes the absence of key players for Moyes means he’ll have to ‘settle for a point’ on the road.

Predicting a 1-1 draw, Sutton said: “Burnley got a late goal that earned them a point at Bournemouth, which felt big for their boss Scott Parker – it felt like a few Clarets fans were questioning whether he is the man to keep them in the Premier League.

“As I’ve said before, I’ve always felt like Burnley were being competitive, even when they were losing games.

“This is going to be a close game, too. Everton’s problem is that they are missing Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and they might have to settle for a point.”

It’s the type of fixture that’ll provide a barometer of where we are in terms of our progress.

Yes, we are without some of our most important figures within the squad. However, we should be beating the second-from-bottom team in the league regardless.

It may be interesting to see how this match is refereed, following Moyes’ recent comments regarding the inconsistency of Premier League officials.

Armando Broja snatched Burnley’s equalising goal last week. Let’s hope the Albanian doesn’t come back to haunt us.
