‘An Amazing Job’: Ruben Amorim Praises David Moyes Ahead of United Clash

Ruben Amorim has praised Everton boss David Moyes ahead of Monday’s trip to Old Trafford.

The Blues travel down the M62 for the Monday night game with just three points separating the two sides.

However, with Everton in thirteenth place in the league, and United in seventh, a victory could propel Moyes’ side up the table.

Everton go into the game off the back of a 2-0 victory over Fulham prior to the international break.

It was a fine performance, and a reflection of some of the progress made so far this season.

Indeed, United boss Ruben Amorim was keen to point out that Everton are a different team than last season.

“First of all, I think they are a better team than they were,” he said.

“They [Everton] are really compact. You cannot see the results, you need to see the games, to understand that 3-0 against Tottenham [shakes head]. If you see the game, it’s set-pieces.

“I think [Jack] Grealish is doing really well. He can push that team, can give weight to that team. [Iliman] Ndiaye is an amazing player.

“They can put [James] Garner as a right-back. But also [Jake] O’Brien, I think, is going to play, because of set-pieces.

“So, all these things, [it] is a more complete team, and David Moyes is doing an amazing job. It’s going to be really, really tough to win the game.”

UNITED FIXTURE AN OPPORTUNITY TO REGAIN MOMENTUM WITH STATEMENT PERFORMANCE

There’s no doubt that this will be a tough game for the Toffees, but certainly one Everton can approach with confidence.

With the league table as compact as it is, one win puts you in an incredibly promising position as January approaches.

Meanwhile, Everton have been linked with a January move for former United midfielder Scott McTominay.

Indeed, with a reported bid in excess of £60m, the Scot would break the club’s transfer record, should he join.

A number of players have represented both Everton and Manchester United over the years. Perhaps McTominay will be added to that list in the New Year.
