Kurt Zouma has revealed he ran to Marco Silva after scoring the opener in Evertons 2-0 victory over Bournemouth because Silva to score in the immediate build-up to Sunday’s win over Bournemouth.
Zouma: “I enjoyed it. We had a clean sheet. I’m obviously really glad to score my first goal for Everton and that give us the win so I’m very happy with that. We need to keep working hard and keep playing like that.
“I ran to the manager because yesterday he asked me to score today and he said: ‘How many you scored last year?’.
“I only scored one and so he said: ‘Listen I want to see you score more’. And so I did it today.
“It was difficult at the end because they were pushing hard and they tried to put the ball in our box and play the second ball so we stayed compact and I think we did really well. Everyone was great today and we wanted to keep the clean sheet and we did.
“There was a bit of pressure on us today and I think it was a bit of a slow start but we grew into the game and a 2-0 win and a clean sheet is all we needed really.”
