That absolutely has to be a record. Madame Allezlesbleus was chuffed getting London to Lille for £39 but that is unbelievable. Sure you are not driving the bus???!!!

I'll push or pedal the thing for that price.

Not quite sure if it beats my Aus$12 from Hong Kong to London though ? cos that was on a plane and included food and ale

A aah forgot about the subsidies. Probably every 2.50 is in the arse pocket profit. Which is probably as good as many other carriers.

£2.50 is ridiculous - nice one mate!

Just to say I've updated he first post again with some stuff, but it's getting so long I think I'm gonna stop now! Ask away on here though!

And sign some players can we?!

Photos or it never happened!!!

it WAS 19 years ago tbh, pre digital age & I'm not gonna start scanning negatives, we'd booked a flight back from Sydney via Bali, Singapore then Bangkok to Hong Kong, we were gonna work there, then got told it was only 12$Aus to add HK to London onto it, good insurance policy tbh as there was a big delay in the construction of the airport and the work had dried up, so we flew back signed on and then went to Greece where they gave us dole.

Amazing! Nearly as good as following the Blues on Persil tickets in the 80s!

How expensive is it in Lille compared to Paris? Just the essentials like food and ale, and what times do the trains stop running back to Brussels? @JimEFC

Supermarkets are cheap. You can get a box of Kronenbourg or something for like 15-20 euros. A pack of 6 coke-can size beers was 5.80 when I was there.

Bars around Grand Place are the most expensive, and there's 2 or 3 that are actually in the Grand Place which are ridiculous. From Grand place walk through to Rihour, and the little street through has about 10 bars on it which are cheaper. Or go out the other side to Place de L'Opera.

Also down by Flandres Station or anywhere away from the exact centre is cheap enough.
The Old Town is probably second most expensive.

The whole city is cheaper than Paris for sure, and more friendly, and cleaner, and safer :)

A pint is maybe 5 euros average. But then some places it is only 3 euros ish. You can tell usually by how the place looks and the furniture etc. Good news is there's no one area that's different, there's a mix of prices in every area.

You can get a full on meal in a restaurant for about 15 euros, or pay up to whatever you want basically. Street counter snack bars that do sandwiches/kebabs etc actually do ****** massive sandwiches for about 3 euros, and kebabs etc for about 5.
