So the buzz has returned to Finch farm

Why?

What happened since Sat to get the buzz back?

Nice bit of selective reading there.

He's blaming himself and the players, and quite rightly.

It wasn't selective at all.

"…The players know what is expected here at Everton and they were told in no uncertain terms after the game against Wigan that it was unacceptable – and not just for the performance, but in many cases we lacked the attitude and determination that has to be shown every time they pull on a royal blue jersey."

...so they knew before the game what had to be done (no blame attached to him therefore) and afterward they had to be reminded of it again. No flies on him then.

That's a total abdication of his share of the responsibility.

He discussed the players as well as himself.

'We lacked the attitude'

He's clearly grouped himself with the players there, and said he as well as they lacked the attitude. How is that total abdication ?

Not sure about that, the tone about his teams and the players know what to expect suggest he's laying the blame squarely at their door.

He's not though is he. 'We' lacked the attitude to win. Nothing like what 'we' have shown in the past.

He's rightly placing a lot of blame on the players because it was their goddawful performance which resulted in us losing 3-0, to say he's totally absolving himself of blame just isn't true.

This isn't the full piece either, btw.

The same way a fan would say "we lost to Wigan, we should have done better", doesn't mean theyre taking the blame.

This is how a manager admits blame :

Completely different situation though isn't it. It's actually a terrible comparison.

In that game City were all over us for large periods, our players were a disgrace against Wigan.

That quote of Moyes isn't the full thing either, so until then it seems a bit silly to be saying anything definitive like Davek was.

Cringe.

Particularly the bit about the buzz returning to Finch Farm.

What? Buzz? Where did it go?

Isn't Wembley and an FA Cup enough "buzz"?

What a complete let down of a 'Captain' we have.

If anything Moyes vs Wigan was worse than Mancini vs us. Not only did Moues get his tactics and team selection very wrong but he also failed to get the players mentally prepared for the game and we started way off the pace. Almost as if the manager and players believed like a lot of the kids in the stands that we were already going to wembley.

And let's be honest we have a history in big games under Moyes of not performing. Just like we have a history under him of only playing well for half a season. Something isn't right somewhere. But he's very good at deflecting the blame and taking all of the plaudits when given.

Its not a different situation, it's not a comparison of each game but an example of what a manager says when he takes some precise personal blame for a loss rather than grouping himself in a collective "we". But then using a "they" to add more blame onto the players.

Not once in those words did Moyes use "I" or "my".

If Spurs win the Europa League doesn't 6th become Europa too? Or even if Chelsea do for that matter?
FFS Everton, there's still a chance! Hope they decide to turn up for the first time in months on Saturday, performance similar to that vs United needed, passion and working for eachother will win it.
