Would be more likely because Bilic is also Croatian, makes a big difference if your coach can speak your native language and can understand some of the cultural differences.

One of the reasons that Deulofeu chose Everton for his loan was because of Martinez's Catalonian links.

Yes, he will be using his contacts in the National team to push him to select West Ham.

While Martinez will be using his contacts in Barca, like Mark Hughes.

Stoke will be all over him.

Barça will allow for the departures of some young players who are unable to enter their plans for the future. The first big decision for which they are negotiating is the sale of Halilovic, a football who arrived with potential, but has continued to not convince. Everton and West Ham have made offers to close a deal, with Barça able to reserve a buy-back clause for the coming two seasons. [...]

Everton have moved in recently, and will look to take advantage of their good relationship with Barça. Roberto Martinez's team have already agreed a transfer for Deulofeu this season and could continue to add other young Blaugrana talents. In any case, a deal for Halilovic is very advanced and will be confirmed after his return from the American tour.

Atsu wasn't brought in to be a bit part player. He just failed to deliver. Halilovic will be given then same opportunity, he's just got to take it.
In all honesty who's place is he going to be taken? I just don't see a 19 year old with no experience of Premier League football or English football coming in and commanding a place.

Would love us to go for Praet the kids got big potential imo, shame we never go for any highly rated players outside of Barca B
