Joke of an offer. Palace have already stated they want £80m, so why are we messing around with less than 2 weeks left. Offer £70m and get on with it if we really want him.

I still don't believe any of this if I'm honest

Not claiming he isn't a good player. In fact I'd go as far to say as I think he might be the best player in the league currently outside the top 6.

But...

It's an awful lot of money to spend on a player who we almost certainly won't ever make a profit on

He's 26, nearly 27 and we could probably get 3-5 good years out of him, but to a degree it's dead money. It's the sort of player a team who don't need to watch their books too much, like Man Utd for example, would make.

Also, he's another winger who's right footed and clearly most comfortable coming in from the left - we have Bernard and Richarlison already who fit that category. I thought the idea was to get a left footed winger who could come inside from the left to help with balance?

He already earns 130k per week, you'd assume we would have to give him a significant pay rise to make it worth his while

It just doesn't add up to me. If we were doing this on a striker, I might just about understand, but for a role in which we already have two very good players it seems odd and very much at odds with the way we are told Brands will be taking the club.

I still say it doesn't happen, regardless of what gets reported as I just don't see it adding up

Yeh, pretty much this. But equally, I'd be delighted if he did sign as he's a quality player capable of playing anywhere across the front line.

Just gonna wait and see. I'm still not sure any of it is concrete info.

Counter point. Silva wants a front 3 that interchange and Zaha and Richarlison are both comfortable doing just that.

Everton make 55m bid and it’s a joke! Haha...Palace haven’t stated anything they badly need money and Zaha wants out arsenal offered 40 over 5 years yet Everton’s 55m is a joke ?

Very much this I'm sitting on the fence with this one to. I knoe we shouldnt look to much into stats but this does worry me with the price we are meant to be paying.

Transfers are not about individuals - they are about building a squad. A player with Zaha's ability to play a cross the front three while creating and scoring makes our squad better.

It helps us play a 433 as well as 4231. It let's us play DCL when appropriate, and bench him when we need to. It also allows us to buy and develop a striker with potential like Kean without expecting him to play 90 minutes every week.

A lot of us don't like him as an individual player, but he makes sense as part of a bigger picture.

Palace have said £80m all summer. And we bid £55m with 2 weeks to go. He’s in a massive contract and they don’t want to sell him. This is something West Ham would do.

Who says they need the cash? They got £50m for Wan Bissaka. £55m will get laughed at and it’s a waste of time.
