Ok, You can bring in 2 players in with minimal realistic funds that you think would give us a good/better chance of getting 4th...

No one leaves, which 2 would you bring in???

I'll go...
Landon Donovan
Vadis-ofoe

Landon to provide extra quality out wide, behind striker or even as striker
Ofoe to provide another needed option in central midfield.

Dovovan if Mirallas remains unfit.

Heres a massive shout... Someone who could be as good as Gibson for us....

Darren Fletcher

If its loans with the aim of getting 4th this season i'd go for proven experienced Premier League players.

Donovan yeah he should be able to come back and slot in no worries.

But i'd be a bit worried about getting someone like Ofoe in at this stage in case they are A : gash or B : take time to settle, leave those kind of signings for summer.

Thing is I just can't see Landon coming now. He's be here by now wouldn't he? Unless somehow we can get him on perm.

And Vadis by all accounts hasn't been very good this season. Maybe because of what happened/nearly happened in the summer.

It's tough this, I sort of agree with the 1 picked in the op, they are perhaps realistic with our budget, but are they realistically going to happen?!

Darren Fletcher would be a top notch signing. Great on the ball. Works hard and can split teams open.

Not sure how his illness has affected him but I think he'd be available on the cheap. Better than anything else we've got and just what we need.

1.Holtby - Heard he can still be bought this window for a minimal fee even though he has a pre contract agreement with spurs for the summer.

2.Landon Donovan

3.Butland - but maybe he is our of our price range.

Had not really thought of fletcher but if he's fit enough (due to illness) would be a great signing. Got a feeling he isn't fit enough or utd would be using him.

Carricks in the form of his life. Cleverley is being slotted into scholes roll.

Fletcher is slowly being weened back into the squad.

They also have Anderson and Scholes for that position.

Id ask for him on loan. Fergie might do it for Mr Moyes

If Donovan was going to happen it would have already happened by now.

A few players coming to the end of their contracts who could help turn draws into wins: Brunt, Arshavin and Di Santo. Brunt could certainly do a good job in front of the back four and could even play on the left if we wanted to switch Pienaar. Arshavin is 31 now but perhaps Arsenal would let him see out his contract on loan to us? He'd offer us something different if only in flashes. Wigan tend not to sell players in the latter stages of their contracts and I don't think he'd get much game time with us anyway, so Brunt and Arshavin it is.
