We have a couple question marks in the squad and some questions have been answered. Jelavic is still out of form, Coleman is most definitely our RB of the future, Jags will be out a couple weeks or so, teams were starting to shut down the pienaar/naines combo and fellaini. Who would you guys start against wigan?

Howard/Mucha
Coleman Distin Duffy Baines
Fellaini Gibson
Mirallas Osman Pienaar
Anichebe/Vellios

I've completely lost faith in Jelavic, he's way more out of form than Torres ever was. Starting him would present a huge risk to our prospects of progressing further in the FA cup. This is a wigan side however that is low on confidence and may be on the verge of caving in. Would you guys field our strongest possible side or shake things up SLIGHTLY? Honestly I would love to see what we have a striker with Vellios and at CB with Duffy and/or stones. I'd also like to see more of Hitz at lm or central holding mid. Whats the worst that could happen with starting vellios of Vic and Jela. Vellios is unproven yes but Jelavic is proven to be out of form and low on confidence and Anichebe is very good yet made of fine china.

Possibly Duffy for Heitinga, but he works better with Distin. Most fans want Duffy to come in for Jagielka, but no one really knows whether he's ready to come in. I'm up for him starting against Wigan, especially against Kone.

Other than that, same team which beat Reading. Mucha proved that he's a capable deputy, and can step in if needed. I think he'll need to consistently play to give everyone confidence that he's good enough, but it was a good start.
Howard hopefully will be back, Moyes needs to keep the positive tactics, he surprised everyone at the weekend. Mirallas needs to start, and needs to keep scoring.

Jelavic needs a kick up the backside but I doubt he'll be dropped for Anichebe.

Howard
Coleman Heitinga Distin Baines
Gibson Osman
Mirallas fellaini pienaar
Jelavic

Suppose the two calls are who to partner Distin and who to play up top. Would just go for Heitinga, his experience and big wage means he gets the nod and owes us a good performance here. Usually plays better with Distin anyway. Up top I'd just give the the nod to jelavic. He's still playing well and that goal must come soon. Plus think if we're needing a goal later in the match would rather Vic coming on to get it than jelavic. Obviously the flip side to that is if we start well could have these buried by half time...do we want to be wasteful first half with jelavic? Tough call that one!

Tough decision on CB. Wigan has got same pace as well as height. While Duffy can deal with Kone will he be able to deal with the more speedy players?
Jelavic has looked decent when playing with a partner and it would give Vellios the chance to come off the bench and he has looked especially good with a partner striker.

Agree with this, I'd rather they start together than Jelavic come off the bench. I don't think Jelavic has the right attributes to be an impact sub.

I'm ok with that lineup.

Kone is just about their quickest player mate and he absolutely dominated Heitinga at their gaff.

No. No no no no.
I can sense a classic Everton bite in the ass and this is a prime example of it.
We play our strongest team- considering how 4th (and probably 5th and 6th) are slipping out of grasp, this Wigan game becomes our most important of the season.
I really don't feel this is the one to throw Duffy in untried and untested (this season at least).
Despite how rubbish he has been (although not vs Reading) I would like to imagine that Moyes will prep Heitinga especially well this weekend to ensure that Kone-pocalypse 2 does not happen.
I want to see Duffy playing, regularly, I reckon he'll end up as a starter for us- but i feel that if he's started on Saturday he'll bomb under the pressure.

I've gone for a defensive formation to combat the midfield of Wigan, 4-2-3-1. We have gone with the massive Giganta to replace Jags at the back. General Zod and Dr Doom to offer extra support for the defence.

Even though Mucha had a decent game, Dr Octopus offers so much more than him. Loki will work the frontline non-stop, allowing the Green Goblin to use his pace from the wings to cut in and support him.
