Always mouthing off about wanting to go, his reaction in the Wigan game, the type of football he made us play, his slow laboured half bothered performances. Just thought we played better without him and it wasn't worth building an entire team around his ability to bring a high ball down and score some headers. I've never seen anyone play the number 10 target man role anywhere else in football.

He was massively frusturating at times, with him sometimes being the best player on the pitch against the likes of Man City or Man Utd and then not bothering to show up for the WBAs and Stokes of the world. But he provided a bunch of fun moments. Other than saying I want to go to Man Utd (same as what Baines and Stones did) I don't remember him saying anything publically about wanting to go. It was his dad that was mostly mouthing off.

For me its Tomasz Radzinski, utter pace and occasional goal, but looked and turned out to be a total snide. Although flappy Howard is running him very close, another season of watching star jumps as someone heads in from 2 feet away and I may edit this post!

Arteta. I know many on here worship him, but it was the endless corners never beating the first man, and free-kicks slammed into the wall, combined with the tedious sideways and backwards passing that ground me down. Couldn't have been happier when he left.

I've only been watching since about 2003 but he was our best player I've ever seen in an everton jersey in his pomp. He was boss leading our attack and those corners/free kicks used to be boss when we had players who could get to them. Plus he was the most fouled player in the prem by a wide margin for something like 3 straight years and sacrificed his body for us.

The "best player outside of the Sky 4" talk the media had always turned by stomach because awwwww lookie at plucky little Everton and their cute player but it was true.

His final couple years here weren't pretty though. The injuries/age eventually took a toll (its amazing he wasn't injured more) and he's reduced to playing a Joe Allen role who's lack of foot speed is horribly exposed on D when Arsenal plays anyone good. The corners/free kicks got bad and with Fellani dominating the midfield he just ran around looking for something to do.

A player like boss 00s Arteta is what this side is missing.

Echoing this.

It's not even close for me.

Some players have been bad, but that's fine, they weren't good enough, big deal.

Only one player has been a snivelling brown noser who faked every last second he was here and ran the club into the ground with his "top ten is good enough for a club like Everton" attitude.

It actually sickens me to my stomach every time I realise the bell was actually club captain.

It's Phil Neville really, it has to be. He was everything that was not 'Everton' and he got made our damned captain.

Special points for Abel 'the state of that bell?' Xavier though for... Well the state of that bell.

Neville when he played in CM, when he played RB didn't mind him he done a job... McGeady 100% everytime I see his name my blood boils never mind him in the team doing them [Poor language removed] snide stepovers. Plant pot
